Anyone else agree? We've only got a couple weeks left, and bearing in mind how long-drawn out our recent major signings have tended to be (Ferdinand, Veron, RVN, Yorke)... I can't see much movement.

I'm not sure there's anyone who fits the bill. To my mind our requirements are a striker or a winger cum striker of which there don't appear to be many available.
I think we'll next buy in the summer. O'Shea has proved we don't need a defender, I think we'll persist with Richardson as a back up on the left and I think Forlan will provide adequate cover up front with Scholes and Giggs also playing up front if and when necessary.

Would like to see one of our young strikers get given a few subs appearances.
I am starting to wonder why we bother to have any in the youth set up for all the good it's done us.
Mark Robbins was the last out and out striker we produced from youth level who got any games.

But you can't produce players every year or even less regularly, who will necessarily make the grade. there is no formula and no guarantee. We have O'Shea who's come through and I think that's something to be thankful for. Most youth team players never make it after all.
I'd rather wait now & get someone decent like Cisse in the Summer....varying opinions as to whether or not Danny Webber should be given a shout. Been injured hasnt he?

Cant see any signings myself, but i think we definatly need to strengthen up front. Maybe not with a world class striker, but someone who can bang em in regularly (with premiership experience).
I'd love to see a young english potential international come to OT. Im thinking someone like Defoe, or Christie. Someone with a bit of class (and pace), but also young enough to mould into a legend.
Playing Giggs in his less familiar position just off VNR could be the reason for his slump in form (im not one that thinks he should leave OT, Giggs is still 'The Welsh Wizard'). If we have an injury crisis and VNR gets a reoccurance of his knee injury and Ole gets a twinge, Forlan cant be expected to go it alone.
End of the day, anyones better than no-one !!

The only likely move is i would say Bellion or Klose.. i don't mind either for this season, but i think Klose will be a step backward for next season IMO.. we need someone quick and can do a lot of things to facilitate RVN..

I think we should buy Bellion now...as we aer going for the 'Quadruple'.....and in the summer we should get...Duff...who can play up front and on the left of midfield...which would add a lot of depth to our squad..
I say we get Klose, Escude VanBuyeten and Bellion and we will have enough resources to tackle the "Quadraple" since klose would be the fourth striker, Bellion would cover Giggs and Becks while Van Bueyten can play in midfield ala Johnsen apart from helping out as cover for the defence. Besides having Klose would be great for putting prsurre on teams in dying minitues of mathces coming off the bench.........
