And if so why?

Is it your current form?

Is it that you can only get better?

Is it that you were the best last year and carrying on that into this year?

Or is it just the fact you are Manc supporters and think its your god given right?

I'd put number 4 in the list.....and anyway,we (The Arse) were clearly the best team last year and will probably be again this year .
COME ON YOU GUNNERS !!! :D

I dont think we will win the league.

But:

Im not convinced that we are out of it yet.

I am not convinced that Liverpool will run away with it now.

I am not convinced Arsenal are out of it yet.

11 points and a game in hand and we could have turned it round last year.
We usually play our best football after Christmas.

I still think Arsenal will win the PL, you 2nd and then us.

More stupid than the people on here that use phrases such as

"we will win the league, I know it"

or

"Its between us and the Arse as usual"

or

"Liverpool are not a threat"

5 The fans
Liverpool has questionably the most passionate support for any football club in the world. Knowledgable, humourous, and patient. Passionate, vocal, and honest. These are some fo the attributes a typical Liverpool fan has. Talk to any Liverpool fan anywhere in the world and you'll immediately realise that supporting Liverpool is a religion. Whether it's at Anfield, away from home in the UK or far afield in Europe the fans always do their best to get the best out of the team. Constant support and acknowledgment that things are going well will filter through to the players, and their confidence will no doubt be bolstered with he support of the fans. Liverpool fans give the team an extra 10% over the opponents and will surely be singing "Champions" in May 2003.

8 It's where it belongs
Liverpool last won their title over a decade ago. With a worldwide support with 10's of millions of fans a club this size needs the title. In the 60's, 70's and 80's Liverpool coolected title after title. Anfield has seen the title more times than any other club, and its about time to bring it back home. It may have a new name, and may look slightly differenet, but everyone knows deep down that the true home of football in the UK is that of Liverpool. Is where dreams have been made. It's where dreams are still being made. And it's where the Premiership Championship dream will be made. Come May 2003 we're convinced the Premiership trophy will be sat glittering in arguably the most packed trophy rooms in the world.

All the time you have fellow supporters such as this arrogant cock, you have no room to talk about United supporters feeling we have a 'god-given right.'

And the majority of supporters (as in those with a brain and not some of the daft 10 year olds you get on here) do not feel we have a god-given right.

So you will stoop to their level of stupidity to try and "wind them up"? As if they need winding up. Why not start a sensible thread and talk with the sensible people instead of try to be an unnecessary Davo mark II with this pathetic attempt at having a pathetic spat. Do yourself a favour Nate.

It's that when Keano, Gissy, Ruud and the new striker will be with us, no team will be able to stop us! ;)

I take your point Dans, but the twats i'm talking about aren't capable of having a serious disscussion because they are so blinkered...

I'm not counting any chickens mate.

All I can say is at the moment we are top and so far the best team to date.

So why are you addressing them then?

Nate - even for you this is a crap post. ;)

Who are "You lot"?

Most United supporters I know have said we are unlikely to win anything the way we have played.

But as a typical ABU, you ignore those posts, and just latch on to those who are in cloud-cuckoo land.

Of course we are still optimistic that things can change - the word "IF" has been bandied around a lot. But being optimistic and hoping things will get better when we get players back, or hoping that other teams will slip up, is surely what any self-respecting supporter of ANY team would do.

A lot of posters have been very critical of the team's performances this year.

But hey, it's so much better to maintain the myth that we think we have a God-given right to win everything isn't it.

Of course we have supporters like that. But so does Liverpool, so does Arsenal......are you seriously suggesting otherwise?

Because i'm interested to know what their reasons are so being so sure, cos I have no idea...

Not at all Liv, i'm just lost for words at some of the "new" posters round here.

The way some of them talk its like you can turn it on any week you see fit, and don't have any problems.

And they fact they seem to look beyond us and right to the Arse, there was me thinking Liverpool were top?

1)Hope
2)Optimism
3)Defiance
4)Shortsightedness

Take your pick.

Every club has those supporters - if you think they don't you are guilty of No. 4

They do yes, but number 4 is the thing that makes them that way.

I'm not trying to tar everyone with the same brush, and for the record I still think the Arse will win the league, I hope we can, and our form for months makes me think we can, but I for one wouldn't say anything until the trophy is in Samis hands.

You're not really interested in their reasons Nate, you're after a wind up, a shit one at that. Why don't you just delete this thread?

Another reason for our optimism/confidence is the fact that we are talking about a team which does have the players to do the job.

Regardless of under-par performances so far, we know these players are capable.

There are players in our squad who I don't think are up to it. If those players were the heart of our squad, I doubt you'd get even the most blinkered fan saying we would win anything.

Yeah of course Dans, if I was on a wind up I would be taking the piss out of Veron, Forlan
etc as they are easy targets...

Is that the only wind up you can come up with then? I thought you had a little more cerebral capacity. Ok, if this isn't a wind up then delete it anyway cos it's a shit topic reminiscent of the antagonistic ways of a school child.

I don't deny that, but the fact remains that as a sqaud they are struggling, and its only so long people can blame injuries and suspensions for your poor form.

Why are you so bothered Dans?

Get out of the wrong side of the bed or what?

Nate - it's the kind of topic of which there are too many. They add nothing and smack of you acting like a kid or a wanabee Davo - we have a Davo, we don't need another.

Nope.

Come on Dans, show me how its done, lets have a serious footy debate.

What do you want to talk about?

Not a lot with you because you can't be taken seriously. You just have a go and antagonise and generally act like a prick. Start a thread where you're not being so obviously taunting and maybe I'll discuss something with you.

Great change of title there Nate. Read your first post after clicking on that title and it looks even stupider now.

I know Liverpool are top and unbeaten but I am more concerned about Arsenal. It's been a while since I worried about Liverpool. I think you will fall apart later in the season, just call it a gut feeling. Four points behind Arsenal at this stage of the season is not significant.

I am fairly sure we will buy a new striker in January. The return of Keano will strengthen our midfield. The defence will improve as O'Shea, in particular, continues to develop. We should get a lot stronger.

I don't think we have any right to win the league. After the misery of watching your great period I will be eternally grateful for our recent success. When you last won the league did you expect a drought like you have had? I didn't. I know our success could be over and we might have a long barren run (25 years after a European Cup win). But even Arsenal's success might be over. That's what's so fascinating about football, sport, life.

Reasons why we can still dominate England

1st We have no pressures in winning niether in Europe nor in England.

In Europe because
We are not a small team who have never won a CL ( I mean even Nottingham forest have won it)and in our so Called full strenght NO Juve Youths had ever humilated us

In England
We did wonthe Premier League my old Scousers friends. Its hard to forget the number 14 and add it in years

2nd reason Our manager is still in full strenght. I mean you can start winning and UPPS a heart attack <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> then Pinochio start shitting the team and your so called empire is ruined. AccidentS do happen expecially when you have such a delicate manager.

3rd reason Do you know we have a keeper? I mean a keeper who can catch the ball expecially when it is comes from miles away.

4rd reason We were talking about having a delicate manager and I have forgotten to mention the forward lines. Our Forwards do not have holes in their heart and definatly does not give a new meaning to the word sick note ( ehmm owen)

5th reason Our captian just dont want to join our main rivals. You know its hard when you have a captian ( viera) who literally begs us to join us.
Of coarse would have like to have him after all Keane and Butt do need a cover.

6th Weeeeeelll we can buy your two teams together. WE HAVE THE MONEY TO DO IT ANYTIME.

7TH We have what they call WINGERS. Do you know what does it mean? I explain. These species know how to exploit the wings and not feckin everything whenever they have the ball ( liverpool pls note)

Ah well, maybe he just hopes Ged pops his clogs and then the empire can collapse.

Your right Liv, not many about, but he shames the term footy fan, let alone anything else.

I am a real Manchester United supporter and I WILL NEVER LET YOU ARSEHOLES AND SCOUSERS to insult my Team, no matter which state currently is.

I am Honest and not an hypocrite. I Hate your fecking teams and all that is linked with it as much as you hate us.

If you want to talk decently about football I am more than happy. But I will never leave you insulting my team.
