Do we have a low-key rivalry with Wolves?

Why is this game such a pain in the arse for no reason at all? Never seem to have an easy one against them, and there's always an edge.

No more than we had a "rivalry" with Middlesbrough whenever it was that we couldn't beat them for some fecking reason in the mid 00s or so.

No.

Usually rivals are someone you are very close to geographically or historically you share the same stage.

Hence Liverpool or City.

Just because you both play football doesn't mean you have a rivalry.

Got nothing against them. We got other rivalries to hate and focus on.

And they got their own rivals they hate and focus on.

Wolves just have a rivalry with entertaining football

They have become my least favourite PL opponent, simply due to how boring the games usually are. It’s one long fight, usually decided by a single goal.

I dunno about it being a rivalry, but I have read that they were one of the biggest clubs in the 40’s and 50’s and were close to signing Duncan edwards or Bobby charlton when they were teenagers at one point in time.

Saying that, I think city have a bigger rivalry with them than we do, atleast recently. We are just bad in breaking down low blocks.

On paper they should have had a clear run at Edwards, he was from Dudley after all

No they’re just the current random PL team that are a pain in the ass to play against for whatever reason.

Just like Blackburn or Boro in the 2000s.

We’re the only team that their oiled up Incredible Hulk doesn’t run in straight lines against. It’s as if he remembers how to play football.

Wolves were huge back in the day. George Best was a fan growing up as well

We made the games against them difficult, to be fair. They don't always raise their game. Should've been 2-0 up before half time for one thing.

Rivalry with this team? You must be joking. Lovely Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Never have an easy game against them? That’s every team in the league against us over the last 10 years.

Never had a problem with Wolves, but Lopetegui being a whiny little pissant today has given me a reason to dislike them now. They're not rivals. They just have a twat manager whose failure I would revel in.

Stoke really hate us too. They started with the Munich jibes that first season they got into the Premier League. I don't think there is a more unrequited rivalry in all of football.
Bolton and Oldham as well. cnuts the lot and deserves to be where they are (league one and conference)

Every club in the league enjoy beating us more than any other club. The words hated adored never ignored spring to mind.

Matt and Jimmy Murphy apparently drove down to Dudley to convince Edwards to sign for use, thus snatching him away from under their noses. We were scheduled to play Wolves at home on February 8th and Alan Hardaker - a vindictive piece of work, insisted that United were back in Manchester in time to play the match. Wolves were at the top of the league and ahead by a substantial margin. Of course, the game wasn't played. I remember going down there after we won the European Cup and the Wolves fans applauded us.

We're Manchester United, we have a rivalry with everyone. Every team sees us as the ultimate scalp, even when we're shit.
