My missus insists on buying the Daily Mail. I couldnt believe the write up on the match yesterday.

IMO the reporter, Matt Lawton couldnt have been at the match.

The gist of the article entitled "Golden Scholes" was that Sven could use Scholes as a support striker. He completely failed to observe that Scholes goals only came when he reverted to his favoured midfield role!

My dad used to to tell me stories about reporters sending office juniors to the games then writing their article based on some kids report. Makes you think that that kind of thing is still going on.

same could be said for most of the daily papers IMO, your guy from the mail probably left early to avoid the traffic and didn't realise Scholes had moved into midfield???

Today's Mail has the knives out for Sven because he's not picked out of form players. <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

To be fair, Scholes was excellent in the first half in the supporting role, too....

My sister said she had teletext on to get the score at about 9.50pm, and it said something like "United held by resilient Everton"... and the text had a full match report saying Everton doggedly defended, United were uncreative, had nothing up front, Veron forced off, etc, etc. and that Everton had had the match's two best chances.

I.e, all complete and utter crap, which they stupidly put out on teletext before Scholesy did his business.
As moronic as the people who leave OT early every week!
