DLF Cup

I just found out we were playing in fecking Abu-Dhabi!!!

Haven't we learnt any lessons from the spate of match-fixing scandals? Who thought this stupid thing up?

Also if its in aid of this silly notion of internationalising cricket, "it is time to stop wrecking the game we have in vain pursuit of the game we don't," as Mathew Engel says in the new Wisden Almanack.

Shame Dhoni's out. I really wanted to see what makes a World Number Two player! Nepotism, obviously.

Well that was easy. At last the Pakistan camp have stopped fiddling with their strategy and are showing the world how easy it is to beat the Indians.

The two major tactical battles won was firstly to suppress Farhat to ensure he didn't throw his wicket away early (ala Salman Butt) and then Inzi to come in BEFORE Yousef to allow us to sit back and defend until the overrated Indian bowlers tired themselves out.

Like I said, easy.

One match out of India, and the Indians struggled again you mean crappyperson. Surprise, surprise. :smirk:

mehro, whether we did it in 35 overs or 49 - I couldn't see anyone with a Pakistani shirt biting their finger nails. Nor, for that matter, any Indian fans either. It was a foregone conclusion when Inzi and Younis settled down.

Let's just restore the order of balance in the world when we beat you in the next game (hopefully) and go back above you in third - where we belong. And smack Pathan's ar*e a bit more on the way. ;)

Hmmm last time we played away from home ODI series, we battered you 4-1.
Could n't care if we lose the next one as well, I think it's pretty obvious that we have got a better ODI team than you.

If you lose the next game you're officially fourth best in the world and we'll be third. Does that answer both your questions?

You beat us 4-1 when we were messing about with our team and tactics and players were going all out for shots that they would never attempt in a world cup scenario. We did the same against a poor, poor England side too.

Thankfully Woolmer is settling the team and tactics down now. At last. There is not much difference between India and Pakistan at the moment. Don't let some vastly overachieving home batting performances from Dhoni, Yuvraj and Pathan fool you into thinking you have world beaters!

You seem to have a chip on your shoulder regarding India. On here boasting after any sort of victory, be it for a shit cup like today or some U19 game. Or making excuses like "we were messing around", "bad tactics", when you lose.
You were battered at home by our ODI team plain and simple. Infact you should have lost 5-0, we bottled it in last 10 overs in first ODI and scored only 40-50.

Nobody is getting carried away, it is there for everyone to see. We have been on the best teams in ODIs over last few months. Faced Pak, Sri lanka, SA and england recently. Battered 3 of them and drew 2-2 with SA. You can make up all the excuses you want.

Tomorrow will go a long way to showing if India are coming out of that purple patch. If Pakistan walk tomorrow's game with one hand tied behind their back (like today) then its all on to find out who will be the form team for the World Cup.

Note, you're playing ODIs in West Indies next. This should also go a long way to showing how far India really have reached in the ODI format OUTSIDE of sub-Indian conditions.

(ps. we thrashed the Windies 3-0 when we went there. Good luck)

We didnt deserve to win the first three ODI matches against England either.
India played poorly but England self destructed. I thought we should struggle against Pakistan as we are overconfident and overreliant on some inexperienced batters and bowlers.

At least we are in a better postion to win the second ODI against you.

irfan pathan equals waqar's record of third fastest to 100 wickets. 59 games. that's behind saqlain (53) and bret lee (55)

Saqlain took the wickets when the matches were fixed.;)

Interesting game this.We should've had 280-290 on the board though.

That's a fair summary. Yes you are still better than us in one dayers, but that's not saying much as we're pretty good when it comes to self destruction.

Witness today.....the brainbox Woolmer thinks hey, we won yesterday with a great formation of Malik, Farhat then Younis. So what does he do today. He f*cks it up big time (AGAIN) by bringing Afridi (to every Pakistani's dread) to the all important one down position!!! Arrgghhhhhhhh NO, DO NOT DO THAT YOU F*CKING TW*T WOOLMER - MY SIX YEAR OLD CAN TELL YOU THAT IS WRONG!!!

That is respect to Pathan's talents. He needs to remain injury (and misleading lifestyle) free for the next couple of years to get even better.

Brett Lee is a very good player not surprised to see his name on that list but i would guess Pathan would have the best economy rate out of the three as Lee is very expensive at times and Saqlain isn't exactly economical.

Irfan P's economy rate is 4.88.

Brett Lee's is 4.71

Saqlain's. . .4.29

All well and good knowing the colour of Shane Warne's knickers, during last year's Old Trafford test against, England. . .but this is where it's at.

Knowing your cricket. The important facts and stats.

Saqlains economy took a beating at the latter stage of his career.

His economy was well under four when he reached 100...easily under it.Fantastic bowler at the time.

heffa question for you, what make condom did Warne use to shag all those ladies he ever shagged.

Go on then.:wenger:

We're so good in one dayers its scary. Now that needs to translate into success in test cricket also.

Huh you are the number 3 test nation and one day nation in the world are you not?

Yeah but the test ranking is mainly because of our form of say a year and a half back.. when we did well abroad in Australia, Pakistan and England, and at home. Since then in one dayers wev seen a amazing rise in form and in tests a bit of a dip. Its a worrying shift of intensity from tests to one dayers, even from cricket followers.. everyone is suddenly interested when the ODIs come around.

Yes you have been very good in the odi's recently but cricket has a large part to do with form as well. You haven't exactly been that bad in test cricket recently it just takes a bit longer for people to realise as you play alot more odi's than tests.
Surprised to see Australia have 4 of the top 6 batsmen in odi's. Gilchrist has not been that good in odi's recently either.
