Manchester United are to rival Bayern Munich in the pursuit of young Croatian midfielder Dino Spehar.

The 16-year-old became the youngest player to appear in the Croatian Premier League when he made his debut recently for Osijek in front of United scouts who had been monitoring Dinamo Zagreb’s defender Sime Vrsjalko.

Spehar’s performances for Croatia U17s have also alerted Bayern who have already contacted the players’ representatives.

Feels like a bit of a column filler but does anyone know anything about him?
 
Well, the Croatian leauge is weaker than the Championship. Haven't seen him play though.
 
Is he the son of former Croatian striker Robert Spehar (ex Napoli) ?
 
Indeed, it's his son.

There was some talk in Belgium about a possible move to Club Brugge (another one of Robert Spehar's ex-clubs). Bruges' current manager met with Robert when they were playing Zagreb last month but I don't know if there was anything concrete discussed. He did say he'd prefer it if his son went to a smaller club first, like Club Brugge, before going to a club like Bayern.
