Does anyone agree Hamann is better than Steven Gerrard? He resembles Roy Keane or Patrick Vieira is many ways.
First of all, he gets very little publicity but he is ultimately more important to his team like Roy Keane is to Manchester United, but David Beckham and Gerrard get the credit.
Also, they drive their team on and sit in front of the defence, tackling and working hard.
He also packs a mean shot which goes largely unnoticed.
But, while watching the first half of Liverpool Vs. Bolton Wanderers, all I can see of Gerrard is he giving the ball away and being generally sloppy, and though Hamann has not been a shining light, he at least seems to be putting care in.
Gerrard is over-rated it seems and though I regard him as a quality player, I believe if he doesn't buck himself up his World Cup place may be in doubt.
Opinions?
