....could cover for both Becks and Giggs. (Well, not at the same time, but you know what I mean). Play him in midfield, and take the pressure off him to score as a striker.

Opinions?

Well your opinion means he is then.

I would like to know what he is suited for?, beckham put a ball right on his head as he was standing right in front of goal unmarked, on which, he totally fluffed his lines - a weak header right at the keeper, and this guys supposed to be a striker!

obviously we should give him more time to settle before being critical but personally i am having some serious doubts about him...

Diego will eventually begin to bear fruit, like Seba... remember the Jaun-Pablo Angel situation from last season.

At the moment, Diego is playing like what he is. A new player, in a new team, in a new league. No understanding at all with the rest yet and guessing or fudging his way through. He needs a really solid pre-season to really get going. So far he still looks lost and stunned by the whole experince.

I think he looks bloody good on the wing.

Can't say I agree with you on that mate, I think he has fit in to the setup nicely - already shown us some excellent interplay with others.

Main problem is his finishing, but the jury will remain firmly out until he's had one goal, then we'll see what he's got in that regard. At the moment he seems to have a sort of striker's bloc as it were...

:)

Sorry, my comments are based on what I have seen of him so far, which admittedly is not the full picture. A lot of my comments are related to my first LIVE look at him ie. vs Leeds and he sorta was very Luke Chadwikdish in his style of play. A lot more pace than control. But I put it down to nerves still and the fact that he was also playing for much of his game as a solo striker when we were defending towards the end.

err...I'll take your word on his potential people since I have missed (dammit) so many of the live games due to work and military commitments. looking forward to seeing him in action again soon.

What type of military commitments?

 </strong><hr></blockquote>

Men have to do compulsory military "reservist" commitments in the small island of Singapore for a few weeks a year on average.

In short passiveman,

Any S'porean male you meet above the age of 18 years, bar those excused on medical grounds, can strip, load and fire an M16 rifle.

until I'm 40 I think. sigh... :(

Do you mean you have to do a few months every year until you are forty - or that you are full time with the military until then???

we do a few weeks every year. i am in a civilian job. this is just part of what we need to do as service to the nation.

Well, how many weeks till you are finished for this year?

Will you get to see the upcoming Champions league games?

cross my fingers i am done for the year.
funnily enough, as the CL games are shown on terrestial tv and not cable, i got to watch United's last CL game while in the field on a 3x3 inch portable TV at 3 am in the morning i think.

I don't see his skill, latin players usually have very good skill.
But I think United should buy a striker with a lot of pace to replace Cole, such as Owen, Ronaldo or Montella.

Why not play Barthez in midfield and make Keano a permanent CB while we're at it.
