Diego Forlan

yeah he played a good game and done his all, one for the future, he will be massive.

Execellent game, he played very well its a shame he did not score.

Great movement, takes defenders on, god it was good to watch. Too bad he didn't score, but he played brilliantly IMO.

hehehe and ive just had a thought Stan. Forlan is south American and has proven that they can work hard in the league if the players mindset is like that.

It feckin hurts like a bitch, trust me. I'm surprised Seba is even playing these days. You can tell when he runs he's hindered, but, most ABS's see it as 'not trying'.

Fergie must be really stupid if he can't see that too eh? OR, is it the fact that Fergie knows Seba has a sore achilles? Hmmmm I wonder

I still think he'd make a better midfielder as he seemed to spend more time there than supporting Ruud.

He needs to pace himself a bit more as well - he worked so hard that the last ten minutes he was a spent force. If he can sort that out he will be a real handful for defences.

Good points.

Didn't arrive via Italy though did he

;)

Diego played well throughout...its a shame he hasn't scored, because he does pack a shot in either foot. Back Diego to score at least 10 goals next season.

That's why I believe he could cover either wing, and do it well.

yep, DIEGO was great yesterday, he did everything but score, t'would be great for him if he gets one before the end of the season, and worth waiting for as it would surely be a MASSIVE goal.. ie vs BAYER, ARSE or dare i say it REAL

I had similar thoughts when watching last night, he's got fantastic pace he can carry the ball well and pass very well and if he works as hard as he did yesterday i think he could be great cover for giggs or beckham .

The future's bright the future's ForLange

I really think he could be a cracking midfielder.

he seems to be adapting to the more physical game in the prem' and has had alot more sucess ie last night.
i wouldn't be surprised if SAF did put him on a flank to see how he does he seems to play alot like GIGGS.

well pardon me for expecting more from one of the supposed top 5 midfielders in the world. Dont get me wrong, im not moaning that he doesnt run about like a dog on heat, its the rest of his game which has disappointed me. He has an uncanny knack for giving the ball away and for the life of me i cant think of a worse crosser of the ball at united in recent years. Very wasteful. So if people take offence at me finding wastefulness disappointing then i apologize for having a different opinion.
I still think Giggs-Keane-Scholes-Becks when fit, is the best MF in the world and cant be bettered. You can shove your zidanes etc, this midfield plays as a well-oiled unit and doesnt need a fancy dan foreigner interupting the flow. As far as im concerned Paul Scholes is a better MF than Veron, can pass as well as anyone, scores goals and gets stuck in. He IS one of the top5 IMHO. Key player for England this summer.

Oh, and as for the topic point about Forlan, i agree!

I expect more from him too, but, I'm not as blind as some therefore I can see all the contingencies that have resulted in his less than impressive season.

It's been done to death on here why he's not performed to the standard we'd expected, with as many arguments defending him as attacking him; fact is, when someone says he's been shite all season, that just illuminates their ignorance and proves that they have no regard for the behind the scenes goings on in football.

I'm done trying to talk sense into the "Veron is shite" clan. They are entitled to their opinion and are probably the same ones who wanted Fergie fired before '90 and probably wanted him to leave before xmas last year.

Btw, I watched the BL game again the other day and guess what, Nicky gave the ball away more than Seba did  but hey, Nicky's not a 'fancy dan foreigner' is he, so, he's immune to denigration isn't he?

Veron's 40 yard pass goes awry and you hear "he's shite", Scholesy does the same and it's "Ooooh, nice try".

Don't get me wrong, I love both Scholesy and Nicky, more so than Seba coz they have the tenure with United, but Seba can't do owt right in some 'United fans' eyes.

Anyway, I'm tired of this anti Veron thing and I'm staying out of it from now on.

There's a crucial game coming up in two days and I'm trying to focus, positively, on that. The negativity emanating from these threads is bringing me down so I'm off.

As for Diego, I've yet to see the game but, by all accounts, he sounds like he did great

Bullshite, 1 good game out of 20. trying him at the wings might prove my points that he is another Poborsky at best, I still think that Pob. was even better, so far.. I still hope I am wrong, but at 8mil, he is still not worth it.

sublime, my foot ;) .....wonder if he'll ever score a goal for us, what the heck's he need....calamity james in the opposition goal?! ....having said that, jedi master had cracking vision today....the semifinal in Germany will be 2-2 up to the 88 minute, grand master ferguson will then throw in forlan and he'll score the goal of the season to take us thru....may the force be with us.....

Great game had he... severe tremors in the force must there have been, for Yoda not to have seen it as so.

dont get me wrong. Seba IS a good player. What i saw of him for Lazio and Argentina before he signed for us, made me really look forward to this season. We'll not get into an arguement over why he hasnt really done it for us, possibly injuries or possibly not suited to the english game. Like you say thats been done before. The main point im trying to make here is that I feel a lot more confident of a United win when Giggs-Keane-Scholes-Becks run out onto the field than i do when Seba is in the team.
BTW at NO stage did i, or would i ever call for Fergies head, even back in 90. Nor did i shout that big Ron should be sacked prior to that...even if he was a scouser!
