DID VERON USE US?????

We all have been following the speculations regarding Veron's future at Man Utd and his return to Lazio. We have to admit that these speculations do carry alot of weight and to top it all up his recent visit to Lazio is self explainatory. The question is, did he use Man Utd to get out of the passport scandal he was involved in and now that everything has being put to place, he wants to return back to Lazio??? If this is true why would we hold on to someone like him. We should let him go.

Juan Seba Veron did not sign for Manchester United during the passport case. He signed for us afterwards, several weeks later indeed.

He has close friends at Lazio, argentenian players, etc, and also people who supported him during that passport case. So why shouldn't he go there for a visit?

Veron was cleared of all charges before he signed for Utd.

I strongly disagree that this is the situation on VERON... but if it is then how? has he used us if we were to sell him back to LAZIO we would get well over the 28mil we paid or else it wouldn't happen the board may be C**ts but there not stupid!

If Veron really wants to go back to Lazio at the end of the season then providing the offer is greater than what we paid for him a year previously we should let him go £30 million could finance a major move into the transfer market for the new man in charge.

Canavarno anyone?

I'm still not getting the right vibe about Veron and whether he wants to be here or not...too many rumours and too much going on in the background.

But,I think this is something United fans are going to have to get used to...top players wearing the shirt and talking about possible transfers to other clubs at the same time.
This happens all the time in Italy and Spain.

There are certain players who bleed red white and black...Ole does, Giggsy does...Scholsey,the Nevs(check out Gaz's reactions at the end of matches of late),Keano...even Becks though he still hasn't signed and of course Ruud.

And there's the rub...you just don't get the same vibe about Veron you do with Nistelrooy.
You just know Ruud doesn't want to be anyplace else this time in his life...with Seba?...your not so sure.

I think Veron is a class act...I hope he stays, personally I think there is a strong possibility he will leave in the summer.

Its true that Veron dosen't give off the same vibes as the other 'die hard' players but this is due to most of the players being made by and for UNITED (giggs,Gaz,scholes,Butt,Becks etc.) and then theres the personalities of players like keane and RVN who are just very passionate about the club.
But Veron is a differnt sort of player and i think he shows how united have turned a corner (the first to do so in England) where you buy in top top players which before only happend in spain and italy! These players like Zidane, Figo, Veron etc although become legends at their clubs still move on and play for others this i think is a sign of quality - willing to set new targets and challenges and leaving the comfort of the fans and clubs that love them.
I think United will have to get used to this because if we want to stay up there in Europe we have to be in there trying to get the top players, who may not have the same feelings about the club as keano but still are needed.
Athough this can be the ruin of some clubs like LAZIO and INTER who just buy buy buy and have no core like we do and teams like Munich do - the key to the success is a balance between the two, CORE PLAYERS - Keane, Butt,Giggs,GAZ,OLE,RVN, Becks?
and the EXTRAS who add somthing missing to the CORE - Veron!

phew!!!!!!!

Totally agree with you for saying that we need a blend of home-grown players and foreigners, though I don't think Veron really added that EXTRA to us during these 6 months. I really hope he can be a success here yet he has disappointed me so many times, including the recent news about he is now in Lazio. Of course, in general there is no problem for a player to return to his previous club to visit his old friends and teammates. Yet after all the recent rumours about he want to return to Lazio, shouldn't he be a little more careful and cautious about this? If I were him, I'd just stop saying anything pronounced like "Lazio" and concentrate on rising my performance for the current club instead!

when i heard rvn & jsv was coming to mufc i thought this is great the plc pukes have eventually given something back to the fans two great big money signings. JSV was always a player i admired since seeing him play in dublin before France 98 but since he's arrived there has been speculation about him leaving again. The "alleged but out clause", "i love lazio my heart is there" and all the outher shite written.

i dont think he has preformed well enough or consistent enough to be in the reckoning for the first team. at the moment the quartet of giggs scholes keane and beckham are the best we have and offer the most balance. they know each other instinctively playing together for the last 4 / 5 years and butt is ahead of jsv on recent preformances.

i dont think too many people would be too uptset by his departure what he gives to the team is not enough for his lack of comittment & work rate

This topic just reminds me of the line in the movie American Pie. "She used me..I've been used.......Cool."

I for one would love Veron to settle down and start showing us his worth.
Can you imagine if he finds his form with the rest of the team playing so well recently.

but

He is really getting on my tits with Lazio this and Lazio that. And now he's gone to visit his Lazio mates and visiting Cragnotti.....
SHAME ON HIM !

does Veron not realize that he has joined the biggest club in the world.

feck LAZIO and START FOCUSING on Man Utd !!!!!!

A better question would have been: Why did Veron join us?

He probably signed with us to get away from the passport scandal, to clear some of Lazio's debts, he fancied playing in the PL or a combination thereof.

It's sad that while Nedved is shining after a crappy start at Juve, Veron has yet to find his feet. I doubt he'll ever feel as passionate about United as he feels about Lazio, but I still have faith that the lad will pick his game up especially for the European campaign.

Juve fans tell me Nedved has been amazing recently.
Veron should get his act together and stop going and ranting about feckin'Lazio.

Then again it may be another fergie masterpiece.
He lets Veron go visit his mates, he comes back feeling better, has Forlan now hanging around.......and then finds his true form.

Pants...

Nedved has been playing amazingly for a couple of months now. Juve have a 7 consecutive winning streak in Serie A to the great displeasure of the fascist Argie.

Next week Roma-Juve ;)

How about us starting to support him as well. We need to get behind him just as we´d get behind anyone else during a spell like he´s had...the guy isn´t warming to United ´cause we aren´t warming to him like the Lazio fans obviously did...let´s stop whinging and cheer him on...make him feel welcome and wanted instead of just demanding greatness and waiting to support him until he finally delivers...

You're banging your head against a brick wall with some of these idiots dabbon. They are never 'kin happy. In their world, they would never leave a job on good terms to go to a better job and then say they still have fond memories of the old job.

They would never stay in touch with ex co-workers and visit them on occasion.

They would never answer constant questions about their old job in a positive tone.

Finally, they would never take some time to adapt to their new surroundings, language, culture or co-workers; they'd fit in right af'kinway!!!

You´re right, it´s just getting really old. These are the people that screamd for Sir Alex´s head before he won us his first FA Cup, wanted Eric out as soon as he was banned after Selhurst Park and thought Peter Schmeichel was over the hill in his bad spell in ´98 before we won the treble. I guess they´ll never learn and we´ll learn to live with it, knowing we probably know better and will sooner than later see the real JSV.

On the plus side ...... If Veron gets a standing ovation from the fans from his old club it can only mean he is true quality (although anyone with eyes knew this) and should only be a matter of time before he starts to do the same here!!!!

we certainly dun need a big name player who simply cant perform on the pitch or simply a heart which is wandering off to a club called lazio. Certainly, our comeback winning steak is achieved wifout veron playing, thankfully. If he dun appreciate playing 4 e biggest club in e world...SELL that botak! let him return to mediocre lazio n play in the italian Cup next season! He wil b able to catch us on tv hoisting the champions league Cup though... F### off BOTAK !

Me King of Old Trafford, botak oso.. but looks wat a difference 2 botaks make. Gif him time 2 adjust to the english game?? then go play in the S league better.

I truley believe veron ist a 90minute player exspecialy in the premiership ///////////plus the knee is dodgy .we all now he is a world class player but not for united. :(
