Dexter

I've downloaded the whole first series but haven't started watching it yet.

Loved Six Feet Under though so I'm looking forward to it.
 
I thought it was great. I watched the whole series and really enjoyed it. It's funny, well paced and has some good characters..

It's not really anything like CSI, just the fact that he is a forensic detective (mainly working with blood), but this insider knowledge of how the system works allows him to ply his hobby whilst avoiding the authorities... It's more a straight drama, and the plot evolves each episode, as opposed to one off stories..
 
Just finished the first series here and it's pretty good. The twist at the end of the series was good and tied things up nicely but I'm not sure whether it will carry well into a second series.
 
I've seen it also, not bad, the twist at the end was pretty good.

I agree with Bury, it will be interesting to see how they make a second series.

I'm pretty sure Showtime has renewed it for a 2nd season.
 
Good show, never really got into it but I can watch it if it's on over alot of other shows.
 
Season 2 was probably my favourite. I thought that could have been (maybe should have been) the last series, but its based on books so yeah.
Although its been out there for a while, not going to give spoilers, but Dexters headbutt on Doakes and then walking out into the "public" was a fantastic set up.

Season 3 was decent. Not as great as 1 or 2 but still really good. Cant wait for season 4 though.

But yes, it is superb and yes i have read the books. I actually prefer the TV series. Halls is an excellent actor.

Really? I thought Season 2 was shite, personally. Loved Season 1 and I actually loved Season 3, too, but 2 just wasn't as good.

Also, only the first season is actually based on the books (and then fairly loosely), the second and third season don't match the books at all. The Dexter books are actually science fiction by the time the third one rolls around, with ancient murder Gods talking to him and stuff.
