Devil may Cry 4

As many gaming fans will already know Devil may Cry 4 is being released in the UK on Friday 8th Feb simultaneously for the PS3 and XBox 360.

I was justing reading an article by CVG and they were saying that the PS3 version requires a 20 minute 5 Gig install process before you can play it!

WHAT A SHIT LOAD OF feck!!!

Supposedly it makes the games loading times 2-3 times faster than the X Box version though.

Capcom want fecking shooting over this.

I was really looking forward to buying this for PS3 but this has taken the shine off what is looking like a top top game.
 
It's a 20 minute install process, have you ever played a PC game? Make yourself a sandwich and a brew while it's installing, or alternatively come on the Caf for 20 minutes, we miss you when you're not here.
 
Yes, I don't understand why people moan about this either. So you'd rather have 10+ second loads between each zone rather than sticking it in the first time and waiting for it to install? It's one of the reasons why all PS3s have a HDD as standard.
 
There are a lot of conflicting stories though, some sites saying there is no difference in the load time, others saying the PS3 load times are 2-5 seconds faster than that of the 360. Does look an outstanding game though, can't wait for it to be released.
 
tbh though its a bit silly if all its going to do is make each level load 10 seconds faster...i mean its 10 seconds...
 
the install is optional, isn't it? i.e you aren't required to install

Ninja Gaiden Sigma had an install feature as well.

Anything to reduce load times, which on consoles is pretty annoying.

That probably could depend on the level. a DVD going at 12x can be around the same speed as a hard drive. Trouble is, that only works for layer 1, and on the outside of the disk. Reading the second layer and data towards the inside of the disk causes read speed to fall dramatically.

From what i understand it is not optional.
 
You have to ask the question would this have happened if the title had remained PS3 exclusive like it was originally scheduled to be?

Developers are to lazy to write a seperate code for the PS3's superior specs, so they port it from the Xbox's code. This pisses me off!

well, if you want the game don't let something like that keep you from it. 20 minutes isn't that long, have a sandwich or a wank and you'll be ready to play.

My initial load for Assasin's Creed seemed to take an eternity and it doesn't even have an install function.

Absolutely not mate. But with the power of the PS3 we shouldn't be needing to install large chunks of a game just to play it. This in my eyes is down to lazy development on Capcoms part.


Just look at Uncharted Drakes Fortune; there is virtually zero loading times, the graphics are the best i've seen yet on any console and the levels are huge. Yet it doesn't need any of its content to be installed to the hardrive just to play it. The reason for this? Its a PS3 exclusive and not ported from the Nerd box!

Sony has produced an awesome console (My opinion the best out there) but 3rd party developers that make there games multi format are letting us and Sony down.

Don't worry mate i'm gonna get it regardless. It looks absolutely amazing!

It just annoys me that those of us that have PS3's get shat on by developers that make their games multiformat.

Oh well i'll just have to have a sandwich wank while its loading!

two birds with one stone, excellent.

I agree with you about the lazy development. I'm sure that in a short time we'll be able to see the full capabilites of that fantastic machine.

I gave up about half way through. It made Ninja Gaiden look like a fecking kids game

Yep, but I needed help from some more experienced gamers to end it... It was worth of time, because the last fight when Dante facing Vergil is like best anime movie.

I also love Legacy of Kain series... Raziel vs Kain story is epic.

Onimusha series is quite awesome, too.

I didn't played Ninja Gaiden, because I have PC. Pity for me... I've heard it's great.

My respect goes out to you buddy. DMC3 is probably the hardest game i've ever played.

As I said I needed help from some guys on DMC forum... :lol:

It's very hard game and that's what makes this game not the best in the world.

I really hope DMC4 will be balanced between joyful gameplay and good difficulty, because I want to sleep at night, not scream through a window "feck this game !"

I have a 360 and PS3 and i intended getting this game for PS3 just to build up my collection really (since atm i don't play my PS3 at all, i actually only use it for not so legal DivX videos.) The thing that would annoy me about this install is the amount of space it apparently takes up. I only have a 40gb hard drive, and i 5gb of that going on a boxed game is quite annoying. Anyone else know why it's more expensive on PS3 also?
