Desmond Wolfe

I know his friends probably call him Des

What do you know about the man?

He's a wrestler in TNA that uses the finishing move "The Tower Of London", he also has a submission called the "London Dungeon". Put Kurt Angle on a stretcher on his first night and last week had a match with Daniels reach the 10 minute time limit without a winner.

Odd to see a thread about him on here though.

McGuiness/Wolfe is on course to change that... But with Hogan coming in and most likely reforming the NWO in TNA, newer talents like him might get held down again like in WCW... He's one of the best around though. Not quite as good as Bryan Danielson who WWE recently signed.

Didn't the WWE sign Bret and Davey boys sons a few years ago, whatever happened to them?

Ok then. Hectic didn't the WWE sign Bret and Davey boys sons a few years ago, whatever happened to them?

Nope. They signed one of the wrestlers trained in the Hart family dungeon, Tyson Kidd. Jim The Anvil Neidhart's daughter Natalya and Davey Boy Smith/British Bulldog's son David Hart Smith. They havent done too much since moving off ECW and onto Smackdown but are likely to in the next few months with D Generation X as tag team champions.

As for Desmond Wolfe / Nigel McGuiness, he agreed to join the WWE but failed the tests they do on all new signings by failing the wellness policy. You either fail that due to drugs or due to injuries so its the equivalent of a medical. McGuiness is known to be fairly injury prone so perhaps one of his injuries hasnt fully healed yet. And so the WWE didnt sign him.

TNA wrestling picked him up and he was fast tracked into the main event.

In case you havent heard Hulk Hogan has bought into TNA and will be appearing for the first time on their programming on Jan 4th, expected to be the same night Bret Hart guest hosts WWE's Monday Night Raw. TNA is also expected to have Rob Van Dam, Ric Flair and Scott Hall/Razor Ramon on their shows in the short term future.

At the same time as they agreed a deal with McGuiness, the WWE also picked up "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. He's widely considered the best 'mat' wrestler in the world. So expect him to pop up eventually too.

Nigel McGuiness (Desmond Wolfe before he shaved his hair) and Bryan Danielson were both in Ring of Honor, an indy wrestling company. Danielson in the red, McGuiness/Wolfe in the black. Considered possibly two of the best wrestlers in the world along with Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho.

Well just watched that smackdown with the new Hart dynasty and they are quite good. David Harts definetly got something about him. Tyson Kid is a good little rastler but he sure as hell aint no Bret Hart or Dynamite Kid. What gets me is how slow wrestling has gone again.
