Desire Doue

is this a joke? good money, beautiful city and he'll win couple of trophies while he grows as player - all that while staying in his country.

he's 19 and he playes for Rennes ffs. he doesn't know what a trophy looks like so he can't be tired of easy titles at this point.
Agree still a teenager, stays in his own country and culture he knows, guaranteed trophies, European football....Bayern be the wrong move as one of only a couple of sides struggles to get starts.....but shocked no premiership teams entering race and gutted we probably dont.....goes to Madrid in a huge deal probably in a few years like Mbappe

I think both PSG and Bayern are attractive to young French players. PSG for obvious reasons, but Bayern has a very good standing in France.
They have a tradition of having French players in their squad (Papin, Lizarazu, Sagnol, Ismael etc.) and the current roster has Upamecano, Guerreiro, Boey, Coman, Olise and Tel as French speakers. On top of that Kompany speaks French as well. It would be easy for Doué to settle in.

Edit: Sané and Davies are probably French speakers as well(?)

Doue isn't strictly a winger. He can play centrally as well. Some Bayern fans think that he is option A and Xavi Simons is option B.
PSG seems to definitely be going for him, but they are rumored to be interested in Sancho as well.
So we want Bayern to sign Doue. Therefore they have to sell someone themselves i.e. de ligt.

Then PSG get annoyed on missing out on Doue so go to next target in the list hopefully Sancho. They then need to sell so we get Ugarte.

Doue is the key to us signing de ligt and Ugarte.

Next week on Game of Transfers...

You (United) just buy de Ligt and Mazraoui, PSG gets Coman and Sacho, Bayern gets Xavi and Doué. Everyone is happy.

PSG don’t seem to be a team you can easily leave once you’ve joined.

Definitely feels like Bayern are getting the better end of that deal

What’s the pull? I can only think of money because PSG isn’t going to win the CL. I don’t consider Ligue 1 because they should be winning it every year with their eyes closed and hands tied behind their backs.

So go there, stroll around on the pitch for 80% of your time there then leave on a free? PSG isn’t going to sell them if they turn out good.

Sounds shite.

Just money. They also have no competition really. They are bidding against themselves for Neves, and bidding more than Bayern for Doue. I imagine things would have been very different if we stayed in the fight for Neves, for example.

There's lots of pull. You're in a major European city, you're learning your trade from a high quality coach in Enrique, you get to play with extremely high quality players and they do tend to go quite far in the CL. Add a shit tonne of money to that and it's pretty good career choice. If you're French, you can do all of that in the country you grew up in.

It's obviously not just about money if an emerging French talent were to choose PSG. In fact, it would be a perfectly logical next step in his development.

PSG isn’t a logical next step for any player prioritising development. It’s a club of mass change and hot air. Practically a Saudi Pro League club based in France. Half of the players they bought last year are all for sale alteady.

It feels that way. UEFA FSR rules certainly have had an impact on the transfer market.

Hotel California for Xavi Simons.
Xavier Simons agent was smart. He has a unique clause in his contract with PSG, that allows him to choose where he plays football not PSG. So if he wants to go back to leipzeg on loan again, he can and PSG can't do anything about it.

Madness to agree to a clause like that.

Exactly, he can check out any time he wants but he can never leave.

I always had this in mind when Marco Veratti came up in conversations, he was they one they kept a weird hold on to. He was/is a great little player and could have played anywhere but ended up stuck there. Maybe is was just happy there but even when he did 'leave' he still ended up in Qatar.

As a French teen Paris must be the easy option would have thought.

I do think Bayern is the wrong move for him Sure PSGhave Barcola,Vitinha who I rate but the Bayern players and no doubt pursuit of Wirtz at some point...think only Madrid have a harder pathway to get time in his best positions (lw or am for me, butrw and 8 too)

I partly undrstand why we arent making a move as we are also stacked in his positions....though its a mistake I feel as we have inconsistent performers paid a fortune and incosistent players as very young....he starts here for me very early into his career...but Im surprised some other big sides in the league arent bidding, maybe due to the sizeof Bayern and PSG money see it as forlorn.

I reckon PSGpay hima crazy wageandhe goes there andits the better option and he follows a similar pathway to Mbappe thoughnot as meteoric

It seems Bayern will focus on getting the Doue deal done as there’s still no agreement with Leverkusen over Tah.

i'd rather we spend the the 60m on Doue than on both De Ligt and Mazraoui

There is a need to strengthen the defence due to last season injuries and even this summer we lost a newly signed CB, 60m for De Ligt and Mazraoui is far far better investment than Doue for 60m, not because Doue isn't good enough but as of now we don't need him (Rashford, Garna & Amad are available options to select from) and we need reinforcements in defense

Thats nice of you, we will take Musiala and Tel thank you!
Come on. You need some experience! Can I interest you in a well maintained Coman or Gnabry? They are really affordable since they are only on about 300k pw…

Edit: and Gnabry always scores in London! That should be a big draw.

Fading stars on massive wages, that sounds awfully familiar!

Looks like you need them now, shame

Bayern lose out on Simons and seemingly Doué. Haha.

Actually, they might turn their attentions to Sancho themselves hopefully.

Bayern have football people running them and they’re usually right tight cnuts, no chance they touch Sancho.

So are they football people or financial people who make financially driven decision? Sancho has been a massive hit in the Bundesliga and a similar profile to Simons and Doué.
