Denilson

Denilson is probably the most skillful player in the world. Watching him against Turkey he was simply amazing when he came on as a second half sub. I think he'd be a very good buy for us. What do u think?

Denilson is described by a brazilian on another forum like this:
"Denilson has a reputation for often being more style than substance. He sometimes gets carried away with wanting to put on a show and then loses his effectiveness. It is best for him to come on at half-time - today he was entered too late - to be at his deadliest. Then he can create lots of havoc. However, when he is played as a started, he starts disappearing around half-time and becomes invisible by the second half."

If this is true then I say, either try to develop him to be more consistent, or don't buy him.
If this is untrue... buy him.

barcelona are reported to be going for him, a swap deal involving marc overmars.

have to say that i thought he was fantastic to watch for the brasilians. . .though the thought of playing a team with a good right-winger up against denilson & roberto carlos would worry me a bit. . .

Whilst he has great skills, he does very little. Creates few, scores fewer.

Much more effective would be Damien Duff, his goal against Liverpool was incredible. He creates, he scores, he is versatile and a team player.

Its NICE to have Denilson who will beat a player then pass it to a team mate a few yards away. But you would expect more of a contribution both attacking wise and defensively.

That's the most accurate description of Denilson I have seen for a while. Very flashy player but not much else. In fact, he will do all that dribbling then feck up the pass so what's the point?

He is good for bringing in when a game is in deadlock in order to get the opposition running around like crazy trying to control him and thus opening space for OTHER players to do the business but Denilson himself won't.

It's a very nice option to have on the bench but then you would have to consider price, wages, etc.

Hes not a consistent enough performer for a club the size of United.
