Any chance of a PM or an explanation of why thread is being deleted before or even after it happens.

I had a thread up there which was sort of sports related, and was 100% safe for work, had no nudity, semi nudity or the likes. It was all pictures of athletes mid competition. To my mind not one of those photos would have been considered to risqué for even a mainstream broadsheet newspaper. Seriously how is that considered against forum rules? If it is then maybe someone could let me know why.

Thanks in advance.

The intent of the thread was probably what got it deleted tbh. However i fully agree with you in that, the actual content, the pictures, were all perfectly decent.

Are threads that are intended to be a bit more, dunno, stimulating(?) despite the content, going to be deleted from now on? Or did a mod actually think the photos were NSFW or would displease google?

Same as that Colin, I actually went to a bit of effort to choose photos that were not controversial and of the athletes participating in their sport.

Maybe this thread could be left unlocked after this answer to provide the same answers for other posters too.

Probably a case of the mods wanting to be better safe than sorry. I imagine they would rather not have threads dedicated to hot women (sport related or not!) right now.

I deleted it. Given what happened last week with google and the general we dont want threads dedicated to pictures of women.

While there was nothing in that thread that directly broke any rules we dont want to encourage those types of threads as they will inevitably end up with pics that might cause problems for the site (and they also require more moderation than anything else as a result).

I was the biggest peddler of smut the caf has ever seen, if I can tolerate a caf without those threads anyone can.

There are plenty of places on the internet for that type of thing if you need it.

I can only imagine that Google gets it's NSFW info from the image location. To my knowledge all those photos were from reputable sites and were completely non pornographic in their nature.

I've answered your question so I'm going to close this thread now.

For reference, I (along with most other mods) will delete all those type of threads for the foreseeable future.

At the end of the day this is a football forum.
