It's not bollox. Keane thinks he can be the man for United.

Doesn't mean Fergie agrees or even thinks about trying to get him.

This is non news!

Sometimes Keane comes across as Fergie's spokesperson though. It would be a good way to sound out the said players so that you can get an indication of their interest when the papers ask them about it.

There is a different level of acknowledgment of interest if it is the manager speaking and the obligatory denial would have to come from the players' clubs.

Hope Becks starts speaking about Vieira as well. :D

I would love Del Piero at OT, cant see it somehow but he would be a good foil for RVN IMO.

This would be my dream signing for United but can't ever see Del boy leaving Juve, not unless he was being forced out, and that in itself would spark civil unrest in Turin.

Superb player who would flourish in the link role with us but the Old Lady will never sell him. End of.

DP's well passed his best...

Not been the same since the injury...

Was an awesome player, in his first 2 season...sadly looks a pale shadow of his former self...

Agreed, they would never sell. Is like us selling Scholes or the Nevilles. Never happen!

I think this thread is already running somewhere else.

I think the last time Roy Keane saw Del Piero play was perhaps in 97/98. Because I can't think of any other reason why Keano wants a player who has been so poor since France 98.

yep...

Still not the player he once was...

Seen him play a zillllllllliooooooooooon times....so, one decent performance won't change my mind..

He's lost pace....which was clear to see even today.

Just imagine that!!! Ruud and Del Piero along side each other.....bliss!!

kae! ;)

Del Piero will cost a lot, and the worrying thing is that he performed poorly in nearly all big competition I've watched (including the last 2 world cup, Euro2000, and the CL of the last few years). His performance in Juventus was also very average this season. Therefore I really don't think we should get him.
