I'm as disappointed as anyone that Sir Alex' dream of returning to his native Glasgow to lift the coveted European Cup was dashed last night in Leverkusen.
But we can take heart, after all, in knowing that we lost to the second best side in what is probably the third or fourth best league in the world! There are no weak sides at this level.
We may not win anything at all this season, have lost home and away again to Liverpool, and it's true Arsenal could win the Premiership at Old Trafford next week, but at least we've found the answer to our defensive frailties and the season's midfield conundrum: Seba Veron looked exceptionally comfortable at centre back and should play there from now on, imo. Move Blanc into the playmaker role and everything slots into place...
