If a poster posts death threats or claims he will do harm to somebody, i.e. a Glazer, are there potential legal ramifications for this site?

Just wondering if the powers on this site ever discuss such matters.

No.

As it says at the bottom of the screen:

RedCafe.net is in no way authorised by or connected with Manchester United plc or the official club website.
The views and opinions expressed within this site are those of the specified authors.

Basically we attempt to moderate and keep things civil/converation flowing but ultimately the poster is reponsible for what they say.

I'm going to kill you

I wouldn't be so sure Bury, there is legal precedent when even ISP's were successfully sued for messages on usenet. If a complaint is made about a libellous remark, or a death threat, I would think RedCafe would legally have to remove that post in a prompt manner. It is contentious, and there have been court cases go the other way too, but its by no means a sure safe thing.

We will remove anything we think goes too far but we need them reporting to us.

Who was that poster that killed Algerian Red? He got ghosted for a few days.

AlGred quit and flounced out in a huff threatening legal action for invasion of privacy when I pointed out that he was in fact UTDLover with a new alias. UTDLover was banned for issuing death threats.

Not sure how he was going to do it from behind a desk of a big Japanese car maker in Canada but there you go.
