I'm joining your ranks,

i've managed to get a deal at argos that gets me two games and a ps3 for £250, cracking deal in my opinion, but obviously i've been rushed into buying this as the offer ends tomorrow.

My darling father, being the kind individual that he is, said that i can use the hd television very very rarely, so unfortunately i need to install it on an old crt jvc television upstairs. Its pretty big, but pretty old.

My questions.

To connect to the old cathode telly, what cables do i need to buy? i has that red white and yellow slot, but is there any way i can improve the picture by buying a different cable?

To connect to the bitching 50" hd 1080 master telly, again, i imagine i need an hdmi cable, im not going to be a tosser and buy one of those £100 things covered in gold, its just 0 and 1 im sending, but whats the cheapest cable i can expect to get?

any help will be awesome, then i can look forwarding to pwning yuo n00bs at fifa.

as far as I know the red, yellow, white cable Sony supplies should work just fine.

you can, apparently, get an HDMI cable online somewhere for as little as $6 US.

I paid $35 for mine at Wal-Mart and was comfortable with that price because BestBuy and other electronics shops sold their cheapest ones for about $70.

is there any cable i can buy for an sdtv that is better than the red yellow thingy?

Scart?

Not sure the picture is much better, tbh.

Might seem a tad extravagant but LCD telly's are very cheap nowadays and part of the joy of owning a PS3 is being able to play games/watch blu-ray DVDs in full, hi-def, glory.

Have you looked into the cost of getting a small, cheap, second-hand LCD TV?

If you get FIFA then a PS3 is the best choice, the majority of the FIFA players on here are PS3, the 360 thread failed miserably. As for PES I am not sure.
