De Laet to Preston on loan

It appears to be on the cards before the weekend. The length of the deal yet to be confirmed.

I assume this means King will return?

surely it would be to the end of the season? No point bringing him back to OT.

Will have played competitively for SU and Preston, so United would be a, not allowed, third team? Or do loans not count in the 2/3 team appearances rule?

I think it's for the best we get king back and try to do something about his ankle. It's always the ankle. The good thing is he's young and will hopfully get stronger

Good move for de laet. He's a very positive player, like his fellow belgium who's named I couldn't even begin to spell, and hopefully he'll show good things

Preston have completed the emergency loan signing of Manchester United youngster Ritchie De Laet until December 13.

The 21-year-old, who started his career at Royal Antwerp before moving to Stoke and then United, has enjoyed loan spells with Wrexham and Sheffield United, but will now move to Deepdale.

De Laet told Preston Player: "I want some games. I am not getting them at united at the moment and, so the best thing for me is to go out on loan, get some games and help Preston.

"Hopefully, Preston will be able to help me as well going forward.

Speaking of his recent loan spell at Bramall Lane, he said: "It was a good experience. It was the first time that I went out on loan to a Championship club.

"I know how it is in the Championship now so hopefully I can help myself and help Preston."

We seem to have a good relationship with PNE, helpful for sending some of the younger lads on loan to a team we know about.

can he play for us this season after playing competitive games for 2 other clubs?

hope he can extend his loan in jan and get some first team action there..
preston are dire, he should walk into their first team

Kings been injured???

Even if he wasnt injured I dont think that team was/is set to utilise him correctly.

The few times he did play it wasnt working, he was stuck out on the wing in one match and then when he did play upfront it was hoofed up to him more often than not. Frustrating as King has the potential to score alot of goals at that level imo and will do given the right circumstances

He has played for Sheff Utd and Preston this season.
Does it mean he cant play for any other club this season? Shame if thats the case... 6 months wasted for him

just checked and he did play for 3 clubs in 1 season..
Guess that rule is for transfers and not short term loan deals

good move for him
Hopefully he goes straight into their first team for tomorrows game..
Teams to look out for in the Championship
ipswich, preston out.. Hull, Pompey in

Call me biased but this is SAF at his worst.:(

Preston v Foxes tomorrow.

Anyone know how he's been getting on? I liked him when I saw him playing for the reserves.

From the little I've seen of him at Portsmouth he's doing well, playing mostly RB. Pompey have had 4 clean sheets (and wins) in a row now too. Recently tried to look at some Portsmouth forums to see if there was much talk about him but there doesn't seem to be..
