Just moved from Blackpool to Colchester

Former Manchester United trainee David Fox has joined Colchester United on a three-year deal from Blackpool.

The 25-year-old midfielder was snapped up by U`s boss Paul Lambert after finishing his contract at Broomfield Road.

He said: "I don't want to be out of the Championship for too long and this is a perfect opportunity to get back.

"Paul Lambert said he wants to get promoted this season and that appealed to me straight away. Everything here is set up for that situation, so I am really looking forward to being a part of it."

Fox has revealed that former Blackpool teammate and now U`s forward Scott Vernon advised him that moving to Colchester was a progressive step for his career.

So far during the close season the U's have secured the services of Ashley Vincent, and now David Fox.

In a similar vein, Chris Fagan's just signed for Lincoln City on a two-year deal. First player to progress from the Glenn Hoddle Academy back into professional football, fair play to him.

Well done him, he always looked as if he had the ability to make a pro player to me.
