Got this on Twatter -
petertravers David Fincher’s Social Network is the 1st film I've given **** in 2010. It’s the movie of the year that also brilliantly defines the decade

Anyone heard anything about it (bar the synopsis)? It looks interesting, especially coming from Fincher.

This is the facebook movie isn't it.

From the trailer I saw at the cinema it came across as a pretty intense thriller. I wonder how much is fact and how much is artistic licence?

That said, Fincher is a fantastic director so I'll probably watch it at some point.

Rave reviews fellas. 98% at RottenTomatoes, an average rating of 9.3/10. 100% with 40 Top Critics, and an average rating of an incredible 9.5/10. 98 score at MetaCritic.

It's one of the best reviewed films of all time.

Well Armond White just had to ruin the ratings didn't he? I'll be waiting to get this on Blu-ray rather than seeing it in the theaters.

But in truth, I do agree with some of White's criticism of Fincher's work. Most of his films feel extremely cold and clinical and while it works with films such as Fight Club or se7en, when it comes to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, it just fell flat and soulless to me.

I agree with that part too. Fincher is my favorite director by far, but Benjamin Button was a disappointment (ironically the movie that finally won him an Oscar nomination), and as you say it felt soulless.

Se7en, Fight Club and Zodiac are all fantastic movies though in my opinion, and Panic Room and The Game are both very good.

It's written by Aaron Sorkin (Writer behind West Wing) so you know the dialogue is going to crisp and witty (probably delivered quite rapidly as well). Haven't seen the movie yet, but it's got some good reviews so I'm pretty sure I will at some point.
