No seriously, he was superb as Fox Mulder, really love him and Gillian Anderson throughout the 90's when I grew up with that show, haven't seen much of his stuff post-X-Files though.

What do you mean plays? Didn't he check himself into rehab for sex addiction? That's not great acting, that role in Californication is tailor made for him.
