FOOTBALL: BELL BOY IS BANKING ON FERGIE BID
DAVID BELLION has revealed how interest from Manchester United has convinced him to leave Sunderland.
The 20-year-old French striker was offered a new deal at the Stadium of Light in December but after learning of Sir Alex Ferguson's interest, Bellion has steadfastly refused to sign a contract.
And with his current deal set to end in June, the lightning fast frontman is expected to join the champions.
"I was very flattered to have caught the attention of Manchester United," admitted Bellion.
"You see the kind of quality players they have. To know a coach like Sir Alex Ferguson is interested in you is very flattering and good for your confidence.
"I will wait and see what the offers are but I would like to stay in the Premiership. It depends on the options.
"I came to Sunderland when I was 18. It is a great souvenir that I think I am a better player than when I first came.
"I am out of contract and I will be joining another club. I don't think I will sign a new contract at Sunderland. I cannot talk about Manchester United's interest because I am still under contract with Sunderland.
"I just have to wait and see what happens. I am only 20 and I want to have a good career."
And Bellion has now set his heart on emulating fellow French hotshot Thierry Henry.
He added: "Thierry is an example of the way the game should be played. He is a great hero of mine, like Ronaldo.
"The last few months have been unbelievable between Arsenal and Manchester United. Arsenal just slipped up at the end and Manchester United's excellent finish won them the title."

Seems almost done
