Television Daredevil: Born Again

Don't they have a problem here in that the Daredevil show they had cancelled was pretty much a perfect portrayal?

They didn't cancel it Netflix did.

Quick look says it's different show runners, but the ones they've brought in worked on the punisher, loki and and moon Knight. All excellent for different reasons.

Also same actors, same universe etc.

Sounds promising. Really can't see them improving on what was there, but to simply maintain that standard would be great.

It's great almost all the cast is in this too, I thought they were brilliant in the original run, especially Matt, Karen and Fisk.

Finished the first 2 episodes. I was entertained. My one complaint about some of the first episode fight choreography and pacing was
off, or maybe too rushed. I was disappointed in how fast the first Bullseye interaction went. And I thought it was filmed strangely, too dark. And you I would have liked to be able to see more of their intricate back and forth. I was looking forward to the Bullseye encounter after they were teeing him up at the end of the Netflix run years ago. Maybe we will see more later on though.

Looking forward to some of the cameos we know are coming I want to see Punisher for sure.

I just finished the original series in a week. Loved it. So this is worth it? No letdown?

I mean this is a longer series order than the rest of the MCU shows. And this was only the first 2. I can see where some people would have some issues with a few things. Without spoilers I hope the supporting cast become more interesting as we go on. I mean from Kingpins side as well his minions and Matt's team. They need some character development Matt and Kingpin can't carry this on their own. Some of the supporting cast need to get interesting or we end up just waiting for Punisher to come blow up New York or more villains.

Do you need to watch the Netflix season to watch this? Obviously it helps but being on a new service have they made for new viewers as well?

I know everyone will tell me to watch the first 2 seasons and I will.

I would say watching at least the Daredevil seasons would be helpful. Just going by the first 2 episodes a new watcher and non comic book fan would be completely lost on who that was Daredevil was fighting. They don't even mention his name. It's just a direct continuation to his buildup in the Netflix series.

I would think you need to know at least who Frank Castle is also from his original intro in the Netflix series as well. Kingpin mentioned him already in the first 2 episodes I would imagine they arent going to just recap his characterization they already established in the Netflix series both his own and the Daredevil shows.

Yep definitly worth watching the Punisher as well.

Just seen episode 1

Cant believe they killed Foggy! What a way to start the show! Was Poindexter someone they arrested in the past series?
Always thought he was annoying. Karen was written a wee bit too annoying as well..if it weren't for those two characters the show would have been a proper 9/10 or 10/10 for me.

Ep 3:

If that is the Punisher at the end, why did he kill an innocent man and is he working with Fisk?
We saw tattoos in the first 2 episodes on a couple bad cops. There is maybe a "cult worship" of Punisher that Frank likely doesnt control. But I imagine killings in his name against what he would fight for might bring him out this season. Just a guess from what we have seen so far. We saw the tats on clearly bad cops. Frank wouldn't support anything they do.

Ah yes, good shout. Hopefully find out in the next episode.
