Not sure how many of you follow the younger players, but i went to see Pompey play Watford.
Although Pompey were excellent, Danny Webber showed some real class for Watford - especailly as Pompey played like never before :)
Definatly one to watch.

any thoughts on him

He has made a couple of apperances for the first team/reserves only worthington cup though i think

He had a fanyastic game.
He got assists for the first 2 Watford goals and scored the third with a great drag back that left the defender on his arse.
His performance was rewarded with Man of the Match
His work rate was fantastic, this took its toll on him as he tired towards the end of the match. That aside it was a great performance, i would like to see how he copes against premiership defences but if this performance is anything to go by he has a bright future ahead of him. I hope we can keep hold of him.

he had a very good game today ....

very promising ....

"Young striker WEBBER, on loan from Manchester United, demonstrated his premiership quality with an intelligent display and was instrumental in Watford's crushing success."

"... WEBBER teed up glass to slide the ball home."

".. WEBBER's sublime pass sent smith scampering away..."

"WEBBER grabbed a deserved goal for himself five minutes before the break after a neat exchange of passes....He turned sharply in the box and expertly curled the ball beyond hylegaard."

Another KID to inject some more life and spirt into the team and attack i hope ... gonna be the 4th striker this term or what ???

I thought the best the best piece of commentary about Danny Webber was:

"He got a few 1st team games in the Worthington Cup, but then again the United Kit man gets a run out in the Worthington Cup"

How true.

The difficulty now is to JUDGE Webber's ability in facing Premier League's defenders ... Based on experience of course Forlan has it more - played in WC and consistently in Argentinian League for last couple of seasons ... But based on "trikiness" and the ability to show something "different" ... I think Webber or Davis could just show something different ... We especially need this when playing lesser teams and need goals ... Sometimes you find younger chap getting it there and about more often than the higher profiled strikers ... they just manage to sneak in ... !!

I like what I saw of Webber last night against Coventry. He was quick, showed some nice skill and shows awareness by being involved in 2 assists but most of all he has some pace.

Did not think he was excellent in the air but good prospect. Great goal...premiership quality and the commentor could not stop talking about him.
The coventry defense was wide open at times so I would like to see him with more compact defences.

i would give him a chance...if he has temperament then he is not too young.... :D

He is what we've benn missing. Flair with pace, vision and skill. after the loan experience i hope fergie gives him a chance

Give him a chance NEXT season after he's experienced a bit more action with the likes of Watford.
