:lol::lol::lol: Its a stupid nickname i've had for about 7/8 years every fecker calls it me now even my family sometimes.

Although i dont actualy mind it better than being my surname with a y on the end.
 
Irvine Welsh is an awesome author.

If you are a trainspotting fan you have to read his novels. My personal favorites are glue, and porno. The predesecor and sequal to trainspotting respectively...

Filth is also quality...in fact read all his novels...

I've read porno but haven't read glue although i thought glue was another predesecor to porno and that Irvine Welsh was going to write a trainspotting sequal.
 
Glue is about a different group of mates - Terry Lawton and Billy "Business" Birrell et al. Not nearly as good as any of Trainspotting, the Acid House or Marabou Stork Nightmares, but good enough all the same.

Ewan McGregor want forgive them for using De Caprio in The Beach. I doubt it'll get made. Decent book, mind.
 
The Beach was one of my favorite books... They made a right balls of the film though...
 
I wont bash you there Pop, the beach was very insightful, I think whoever did lost watched it surely

Some characters in Glue are also in Porno, and even some cameos from some trainspotting characters. I'm sure renton, spud and begbie get a mention.
 
Porno is the dogs bollox. I don't know if a Trainspotting sequel will ever materialise, they've been talking about it for years. They've told Kelly Macdonald she wouldn't get another part while I'd be surprised if they ever get Ewan McGregor on board.
 
I quite literally read the entire book over the last three days, so this thread is strangely poignant. Brilliant book, and it was cleverly turned into a film.

Would love a sequel.

yeah they all flitter through at times. Terry Lawton's character is entertaining

Porno's not really near Trainspotting in my view, bit rambly and shite in comparison. It'd be decent, but far less interesting
 
Just started to re-read Porno last night actually after stumbling across it again. Very entertaining read, no chance of ever being made a movie in all likelihood. Shame.

Irving Welsh is probably the best character writer I've read.
