Another goal tonight. Has always impressed me when I've seen him play.

He should be playing for a bigger club. Bruno replacement anyone?

Isn't he linked with a City move?

Tbh I never understood his career path because he's always flown under the radar and is now 26. He left La Masia at 16 and went to Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia, then moved to RB Leipzig. Surely he was better off staying at Barcelona or joining another Spanish club if he wanted gametime as a teen? Despite the long detour he's finally and fortunately made his mark after Pedri's injury. Wouldn't be surprised if KDB left for Saudi and he got signed by City.

Every player that forges a successful career, and Olmo clearly is a success, obviously made good career choices.

Number of kids that La Masia churns out every year and that fail to make a grade for the highest level is huge. Even the ones considered to have more potential than Olmo.

Spanish Phil Foden

Hasn't found consistency at club level yet, partly due to injury. 26 years old so no longer a kid either

Been a favorite of me on FM for years... Looks great in this championship, if he is linked to a City move (like someone posted) I think he would be scary in their system

But why would a 16 year old leave his home country, a top club like Barca and a top academy like La Masia to go to Croatia? There's another recent case of a 15-16yo developed by Porto going AWOL after refusing to sign professionally with Porto because his agents secretly sent him to a Croatian club in hopes of peddling him off to a Bundesliga club after. Cardoso Varela.

Class player that would come with a premium fee....

as the OP said he'd only realistically be an option if Bruno left

What's your point?

He is good player, very good as a squad player for any big team. But I dont know why you guys here mention he replaced Bruno

This has been clear to me for a few years already. I doubt he will be at the current club for too long

I still don't think he's a player to take a big club to a higher level ala De Bruyne, Bruno, Hazard etc. I would say he's a level below that and would be a great squad player for a top European club, if he wants to consistently start then I think Leipzig is the right level of club for him.

I wouldn't want him as our replacement for Bruno but would be a great option to have in team since he can play in multiple positions.

I think he’s better than being given credit for. But, yes he can play LW, gives you quality all along the front.

What does that have to do with Olmo? He chose to join the best team in Croatia, which has a history of developing young players and selling to top European teams, in order to play first team football at 16. Literally nothing like whatever that story is that you’ve posted.

Fabregas and Pique left Barca at young ages to try and experience first team football, I’m sure there’s plenty more that went to smaller teams that I can’t be bothered to think of. For every 16 year old that makes it at Barcelona, there’s so many that have moved to much lower levels than Dinamo.

Laporta dealing with this.

Are Barca still in that much shit huh?

The only reason Barcelona were able to register him until the end of the year was because they freed up space when Andreas Christensen was ruled out for four months in the summer.

"The Catalan giants are said to be negotiating the sale of special VIP seats at the Camp Nou for the next 20 years which could potentially bring in income of around €200 million."

So yeah, that much shit.

I’m sure they’ll find a way to get around it but they don’t half fly close to the wind with their finances.

Yeah, they'll probably get away with it again but the risk that you burn €60m for nothing isn't even worth it. I mean, that could very well start a chain reaction. Olmo is a great player but not good enough to gamble with the future of a club of Barca's proportions, especially not when you already have Yamal, Raphinha, Ferran Torres, Gavi and Pedri plus La Masia. Very weird.

And here I was, thinking that player registrations are done for the whole season. Leverlona for the win!

Doesn't sound dodgy at all
