Dan Gosling

Gosling will be available on a free in next summer, could be worth a try. Although he hasn't got the massive potential of Rodwell

Two good, young English footballers from a great academy. Sounds like a bloody good idea if you ask me. They may cost a bit but we need a bunch of English players to meet the quota and enable us to buy the odd good foreigner. Only seen Gosling a few times on Sky this season but has looked steady and composed. Rodwell has taken his chances well and the Everton fans think he has all the makings of a star. I'd much rather buy these two than players like Di Maria, Dodo and all the other unproved PL players we constantly are linked with.

Gosling is average. Rodwell is pure class.

I don't think we'll be signing Rodwell this summer though. Another season or two at Everton is what he and that club need.

Gosling is not on the cards. I'd be majorly shocked if he was even on our radar.

Agree with the rest. Gosling is a good, but I'm not sure he's United material. Rodwell definitely will be if we get him early and let SAF mould the lad.

Dan Gosling comes from Plymouth - not sure I would rank that as a great academy. Everton bought him when he was 17 as I recall

Why is Rodwell so highly rated on here?

Why is Rodwell so highly rated on here?

I have only seen him a handfull of times and in glimses when coming on. Impressed quite ... much to say the least. Playing like a 25year old with full confidence. He's already a forward who can produce so to say. This Gosling is another story though. Just by the look of him you would think he's average :nervous:

Did someone say Rodwell?

Gosling is very average. Would never be good enough to hold down a permanent first team place for Everton, Tottenham or Aston Villa, Let alone us.

If he is on free then we should sign him up. The boy is decent, he can play in multiple roles and he is training in the nation which considering the new FA rules is a bonus. If the club can find space for players like Diouf and Tosic then it can surely find space for Gosling.

Eh?

On free he is worth a try. He is decent, he can play in multiple roles and he is training in the nation which considering the new FA rules is a bonus.

He would be very Naive to come to us. He should stay at Everton, or move to a lower table premiership side, like Hull or Wigan.

Gosling would be better to play at Everton for two more years before moving to another club if he could find any better. Playing football for Everton is not the worst, easily one of the Top 8 teams in the country when they have all players fit.

If he is interested in signing with us then we shouldn't close the door at his face. At free he is worth to be signed.

dan gosling has quit everton after the premier league ruled he was free to walk away over an administrative error.

The england under 21 star argued that he could leave when his contract runs out as the club had failed to put a new offer in writing.

A premier league inquiry heard statements from gosling's representatives and the toffees before ruling in favour of the player.

The club wanted gosling, who can play in defence and midfield, to sign a new deal and chairman bill kenwright made verbal offers without putting anything in writing befoe the may deadline.

The 20-year-old would have netted everton around £4million if he had joined another premier league club but will leave on a free transfer.

Gosling is not expected to be back in action for around three months as he recovers from knee surgery but sunderland, newcastle and west ham are reported to be leading the chase for his signature.

wtf?

It's a pity they did not make the same error with rodwell... :)

I wouldn't mind to see him at United.

I'd take him on a free i suppose. He's never wowed me though.

I will point out that this isn't being reported by either BBC or Sky though.

The boy is versatile, he is homegrown talent and he is still young. He would prove useful to have around.

He'll probably go to someone like Newcastle and still look a bit crap.

I can't see him getting any games for us.

Right back - Rafael, Brown + O'Shea are better.

Centre mid - Carrick, Fletcher, Scholes, Hargreaves (i know), Gibson + Anderson are all better. Maybe Cleverly is too, I wouldn't know.

Right Wing - Valencia, Nani, Park and Obertan are better.

Like I said, i would take him on a free. But i don't see him making any sort of impact.

Im not expecting him to be a first teamer. On the other hand a versatile English homegrown talent like him would prove handy to have around considering the 25 player limit

I heard he was demanding first team football at Everton in his favoured position of central midfield.

What is it with young players today?

He won't even find a better club than Everton anyway.

apparently the unwritten offer was £15k per week.....which means that he can now expect around £20k without another club having to pay a transfer fee.
Not sure that a "good club" (ie one as good or better than Everton) need him and the ones who could possibly afford him......newcastle, sunderland, birmingham, fulham are really not as good a bet as Everton.
As he is out injured for a few months, no team is likely to sign him before he is match fit...and he wont be earning anything.
Possibly its a ploy to make Everton raise their offer.
Id not be surprised if it was announced he had re-signed after all.
