New Year´s Sale in Leeds ....
---------
LEEDS midfielder Olivier Dacourt looks poised to join Italian giants Roma.
Dacourt's agent Bruno Satin said Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale was due to hold talks with Roma officials today to finalise a transfer, which would initially be on loan for the rest of this season pending a permanent deal in the summer.
Ridsdale hopes to reclaim as much of what was a club record £7.2million Leeds paid to Lens in the summer of 2000 for the France international, with £6million likely to be the asking price.
Satin said: "I know the clubs are supposed to be meeting today to sort out the transfer of Olivier.
"If the clubs agree something then I will finalise something with Roma regarding personal terms.
"I hope the clubs come to some sort of arrangement and the deal can go through."
The promise of any money for Dacourt from Roma this summer could pave the way for Leeds manager Terry Venables to start bringing in his transfer targets, with Brazil World Cup winner Kleberson top of his shopping list.
Venables was furious when Dacourt, on the eve of Leeds' defeat at Fulham in December, described his relationship with the manager as being 'distant' and the team's form 'a disgrace'.
Venables said then that if Dacourt wanted to go to Italy he would 'personally drive him there'.
Leeds plc have appointed Neil Holloway as a non-executive director of the company.
The business arm of the football club indicated their intention to strengthen their board at the club's recent Annual General Meeting.
Holloway, 42, is managing director of Microsoft's UK business and vice-president of Microsoft EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale said: "I'm delighted that we have been able to attract an individual with Neil's worldwide business knowledge to our board, and I anticipate being able to announce further news of changes to strengthen both the board and management team in the near future."
