Curtly Ambrose takes 7/1 against Australia at the WACA

Well I thought it was well worth a watch you bunch of cnuts.

Works for me, used to love watching Walsh and Ambrose bowl.

Good clip and long time since I seen it. What a bowler Ambrose was, remember him and Waugh going face to face once. Must taken quite some courage to stand up to him!

Bishop took the first two, though. He was fecking brilliant in the late 80's/early 90's.

I can't believe anybody's who's seen Amrose, Walsh, Bishop and Patterson bowl would rate Bishop the best among them. Sure he was decent but in comparison to Ambrose at his best?

Actually, I have heard from many people that if it wasn't for injury Bishop would have surpassed Walsh and Ambrose

Before his injury(93, I think), from which he never recovered, he was rated either one or two in the rankings along with Waqar, in the early 90's. He was more devastating than Ambrose ever was, and for a short spell he probably was the best out of two. But never the same bowler post injury. Had to change his action, to a more front on one, to lesser the load onto his back. But this caused him to lose his genuine pace. I remember watching him debut in a ODI in England, and also destroying Alan Lamb's stumps in the Caribbean. The off stump travelled a few miles, I can tell you. Plenty of bowlers have had career threatening injuries, but they've always recovered the first time around. He for some reason didn't. A shame really, because he was a favourite of mine.

and Patterson was never that good. All pace and no control.

I never saw much of Bishop, a bit too early for me.

Bishop at his best was faster than Donald with the accuracy of Ambrose. After Holding, Marshall, Roberts, Garner Clarke and Croft ... Bishop is the only West Indian bowler who never needed assistance from the pitch or weather conditions to rip through a batting order. I've seen Ambrose and Walsh getting tonked by Jayasurya and others especially the subcontinent but Bishop at his peak was a yard faster and more accurate.

Please. Stop there.

Is there any other West Indian bowler of the 90's who was devastating in the subcontinent conditions?

You said 'Bishop is the only West Indian bowler who never needed assistance from the pitch or weather conditions to rip through a batting order'

Which is the daftest statement, ever. Nothing there about West Indian bowlers of the 90's in the sub continent.

I'm starting to give up on the lot of you.

Patrick Patterson.

We had him at Lancs. He was all pace and nowt else. Was meant to have taken over from Marshall. Wasn't fit to lace in boots.

I said after the likes of Holding, Marshall, Roberts, Garner Clarke and Croft ... Bishop is the only West Indian bowler who never needed assistance from the pitches and weather conditions. Its correct.

I'll let you off. Just this time.

why?

Name the bowlers

Ambrose used to rely on bounce, like Garner. And he used to get it out of most pitches, due to his height, again like Joel Garner. To say he required assistance, is absurd. I've seen him go through teams on flat decks.

He required assistance and he is at his best at the seaming conditions. Better check his record in the subcontinent and post your expert opinion. In the subcontinent condtions, he usually bowls line and length and can contain a batting line up but cannot run through the batting order like in England or West Indies. Even in Australia I've seen him getting tonked in the flat wickets of Sydney and Adelaide but ending up with devasting spells in Perth, Brisbane and MCG

Wrong wrong wrong.

Thank you.

Settle down everyone.

The general is the place to play.

You wouldn't want to be blocked from posting on your beloved criket forum would you?

I thank you.

Not just yours. About 12 posts from 3 people.

Continued "your are a cretin", other insults and pictures of our favorite runner, count as spamming the forum. It is tolerated in the General but not in other forums. Even less so since it is getting out of hand.

People have already been blocked from the transfer forum for spamming and wind ups. The same goes for the other forums.

But Vijay is a cretin and a WUM. What else is one to do?

Leave breadcrumbs behind you and hope he follows you to the general.

The odd "cretin" can be ignored but when threads get whole pages of this sort of stuff it is going to get deleted and people will get their posting rights restricted.

I thought it was fairly mild. A couple of insults followed by a short discussion about whether Vijay's father was retarded, hence the photo. He then said that he hoped I got raped in prison, which I found a bit strange...

He's banned from the General, I think, and that's where most of us cricket fans are from. That's why he stirs up shit in the cricket forum...

He also does it in the admin forum, as well as spouting shit in the football forums because he's clueless.
