For kemo et al., to chedk their hot gossip against.

* The player is someone we need
* We can afford him after having bought all the higher priority players/positions
* There are quotes from the club or player
* The quotes aren't just saying they think we're good - they all think that!
* The club have to sell him because the contract is running out and a new one isn't signed (but beware agents rumouring to get a better contract) OR
* The player didn't settle in at the new club, and he's had long enough to. OR
* The club needs the money, and there are no other better candidates to sell (e.g. Rio Ferdinand) OR
* The team is unsuccessful, or minnow, and the player is ready to move on and has no longstanding loyalty to that club OR
* There has been a big bust up with the manager, possibly a new manager
* The deal doesn't involve Nike, who are sponsors to lots of clubs but don't also pay millions of additional money to them for transfers/wages in addition to the incredible amount they are paying for their stupid logo on the shirts
* The link isn't just because he is a defender
* The link isn't just because he's had one good game
* The link isn't just because 8 years ago Alex said he thought he was a good player (although this can be discounted if Alex gets desperate)

Please add to the list.

*He holds the United Scarf above his head at OT hugging Sir Alex with lightbulbs flashing non-stop.
;)

Missed one
* The player wants first team football and he would be first choice for us, OR he wouldn't mind being a squad player for 3 years and thats all we could offer him (Rules out Duff)

Thuram, Rivaldo and Ayala fit the bill perfectly. Check your list to see if I'm wrong.

Kemo, I assume you want Rivaldo so that we can pay this injury prone 30-year old his hospital fees for nursing his injuries the next couple of years right? If so, great buy.

A player has one injury plagued season and he becomes a Write off in your book KEVIN? <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />

It would be great news,if he came, he can offer us that special ingredient that no other player can, imagine this:

Beckham Keane Veron Giggs

Rivaldo

Van Nistlerooy

Who would not want this for their attacking line up?
