Crickets a great game, probaly my second favourite sport with rugby. A lot better than all that Yankie crap, American football, baseball, ice hockey etc

Give me American Football and Ice Hockey over Cricket anytime, but when you've got an interest in Cricket, then its a decent sport.

Many a time do I find myself at my local county, getting a sun tan

the 20-20 game is great entertainment too, especially when you're in the crowd.

Go to agree, once you get an interest in cricket you do end up following it a lot. I enjoy watching and playing it.

Then again, it is all a matter of opinion. I spoke to an Aussie who went into a 20 minute tirade, declaring that football was 'boring and played by pussies'

I can see his point, with the players diving around and going down faster than a 2 quid whore.

but to call it boring is like wayyyyy off the mark.

How have you got into them then? When I was a kid, back in the 80's, the NFL tried to make a big impact here. . .and even though, it never really took off, a lot of kids did have an NFL team they followed. The problem was, that, it wasn't an easy game to follow and away from all the style, there didn't seem to be much substance.(the stop start nature of game didn't help either). I think the same can be said about cricket. I think it's a game you have to brought up to love. Otherwise, it can seem very complicated.

I love sports with a good atmosphere, went to see the New England Patriots back in 02, great entertainment.

Plus, in the playoff period, games are always on a knife edge and you can never guarantee the winner until the last play has been played.

american football isn't a sport.

it's a bunch of pansies, padded up to the nines, killing time before the next commercial break.

and don't get me started on basketball.

baseball i have watched in the past and tolerated...i'll give it that.

Could it have been all the glitz and glamour that turned you into a fan? I mean, as a person who's just watched for the first time, surely you didn't know what as going on.

You've obviously never watched bowls . . . zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!:boring:
I died in two World Wars for the likes of you. If I want to like a game that involves little more than an intermittent stroll down the well manicured garden followed by a nice chat about measurement and then tea and sandwiches (no crust, my dentures can't take it) then that's my affair. I have to lie down now after all that excitement.
Tea, anyone?

Cricket feckin' rawks maan.

Now im sorry Baseball....... there really is a shite game, its feckin rounders for Christs sake!!

One man steps up, tries to hit ball.......One man steps up, tries to hit ball.......One man steps up, tries to hit ball.......One man steps up, tries to hit ball.......One man steps up, tries to hit ball.......One man steps up, tries to hit ball........ repeat a couple of hundred times and there you have it Americas most popular sport!?!?!

Says a lot really for the average Yank sports fans attention span.....

Cricket can be the most boring sport most times.
But The Ashes are clearly more entertaining than most of the la liga or seria a matches.

If you watch any new sport for the first time, you may not know what was going on. Football is rather simplistic but still there are offsides / pass back to goal keeper cant be picked up etc which someone might not understand in the first game.

If you actually go to an American football or basketball game live, you might turn into a fan too.
