Frosty said:Go to agree, once you get an interest in cricket you do end up following it a lot. I enjoy watching and playing it.
Then again, it is all a matter of opinion. I spoke to an Aussie who went into a 20 minute tirade, declaring that football was 'boring and played by pussies'

Many a time do I find myself at my local county, getting a sun tan
the 20-20 game is great entertainment too, especially when you're in the crowd.
Spoony said:How have you got into them then? When I was a kid, back in the 80's, the NFL tried to make a big impact here. . .and even though, it never really took off, a lot of kids did have an NFL team they followed. The problem was, that, it wasn't an easy game to follow and away from all the style, there didn't seem to be much substance.(the stop start nature of game didn't help either). I think the same can be said about cricket. I think it's a game you have to brought up to love. Otherwise, it can seem very complicated.

Spoony said:Could it have been all the glitz and glamour that turned you into a fan? I mean, as a person who's just watched for the first time, surely you didn't know what as going on.

I died in two World Wars for the likes of you. If I want to like a game that involves little more than an intermittent stroll down the well manicured garden followed by a nice chat about measurement and then tea and sandwiches (no crust, my dentures can't take it) then that's my affair. I have to lie down now after all that excitement.ERICSAGOD said:You've obviously never watched bowls . . . zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
