Something needs to be done about it. Either close it down or find a way to spring some life into it. Try and promote some newbies who are sensible and knowledgable about the sport. Otherwise chuck it, a music forum would probably be better.

Many of the people who frequented the cricket debate have now left the forum - I would think with the coming Ashes series and the World cup, should spring it back to life.

It would be difficult to know who from the newbies are interested in cricket - anyways there have been a few hundred newbies that I have promoted, none seem too keen on posting on the pavillion.

I have a feeling cricket, it's only personal, sadly is a sport that at grassroots levels has been in a steady decline here in the UK for many years...Last years Ashes series greatly helped the feel good factor, which may have helped in a slight resurgence for a while...

It has, but the English bit doesnt have much to do with it. This forum is filled with people from everywhere. All it takes are a few people.. does even crappy now post 'there'?

Yes Crappy posts, although lately he's been missing, but he hardly ever posts on the cricket threads - only Slabbs, Spoony, Nate, DD and myself seem to be interested...

I think Slabber banned me from there. Not that i went there often, i prefer the caf.

Can we at least bring it into the main page, so you dont have to click twice to see it!

It hardly seems worth it Malc - those seriously interested do find themselves posting. I would think if it came on the main page some would just turn into a piss fest.

I suggest we leave things as they are until after the Ashes series and the World cup. In the meantime let's talk to ourselves...

Sultan, Sultan,Sultan! You haven't quite got the hang of this mod business, have you. This is what you should have posted.

Noodle: how fat and unhelpful are we, exactly?
Golden: Very fat. And very unhelpful.
Noodle: What do we do now then?
Golden: Absolutely nothing
Noodle: You're a dab hand at this
Golden: Rim me
Noodle: Yes

:)

Cricket is rubbish. This should seem obvious.
I was working on bringing Spoony around to this way of thinking, before the Cricket lovers snatched him back from the light

I frequented the cricket forum, but realizing there's barely any point, I started visiting another website, devoted solely to cricket. It just made more sense.
