Too expensive...out of form...look for a youngster to nurture & use the money saved to stregthen the back....we don't want to bench ole again for God's sake
 
Crespo-Rvn do i have too say it again?The most lethal partnership in the world if it happens.Veron,Beckham and Giggs could give the service Crespo lacks at Lazio since Veron and Nedved left.We still would have money if we sell fringe players.Disco,Fortune,May and some more.Fergie will get the transfer kitty the other manager would have had.

Have to agree, but I don't see us signing Crespo esp since we need two CBs..even if fortune or may leave...but maybe if we can get rid of Yorke

Blanc retiring, Irwin and May on frees...question marks once again about Silvestre and P. Neville at full-back...and where do you play G. Neville?
Very real injury worries still with both Johnsen and Brown.

How can we be even dreaming of signing such costly luxury players as Crespo until we get the defence once and for all sorted?

I start to cry soon sell P Neville too i cant stand the guy.Sell all our defenders except Silvestre and G Neville even if we dont get money for them.I hope United build a dream team as Real are planning to do for next season.If we want to stand a chance we have to buy new defenders and a worldclass striker like Crespo.Even if im a Lazio fan.

For the first time in a while a Man Utd link has some degree of truth and actual intent to it.

Crespo will leave lazio this summer, their league position will not see them cliam a champions league place, simply they are not a strong enough squad. They will be forced to sell their biggest assest aka crespo, and a few others as well, i would imagine they will try and buy some south america starlets for cheaper but anyway back to crespo.

Crespo wants to be at one of europe's top clubs such as united and would obviously like to be with veron, (crespo is actually the god father of seba's daughter)and this will obviously form the lynch of deal for crespo.

But the likelyhood of this happening is debatable, the problem being the financing situation. Fergie has funds for defensive reinforcements of the highest calibre, with the probabilty that two defenders coming to old trafford. Lazio would like to do some form of px deal for veron and crespo but seba aint leaving ot as i earlier on thought he would, fergie has faith in the mans ability, so this is where we reach the problem, its quite clear that if fergie wants crespo he will have to sell before he can buy. Gustavo Mascardi is sweating in some italian hotel trying to find clubs for yorke, fortune etc, becuase this would be his biggest payday.

Would be nice to see crespo treading the boards at the theatre of dreams, him and rvn awesome.
 
LAZIO'S sporting director Nello Governato has confirmed Manchester United are resisting attempts to sell Juan Sebastian Veron, and admitted Hernan Crespo may leave Stadio Olimpico.
Agent Gustavo Mascardi has held talks with Lazio this week, with Italian sources suggesting he has enquired about Crespo's availability, on behalf of United, rather than trying to smooth the passage of Veron's return to Rome.

However, it is clear Lazio do want to sign their former favourite, providing they can clinch a place in next season's Champions League.

"One of our objectives is to bring Veron back to biancoceleste, but it will not be easy," stated Governato.

"In any case, any operation depends on the income from the Champions League for Lazio.

"If we fail in this objective, we could not proceed.

"Moreover, there is the obstacle of Manchester United who, for the moment, do not seem to be intending to sell him, but if there is the chance, we will make an attempt to open negotiations.

"With the club in the Champions League, new horizons would be opened, and to bring Veron back to Rome would be a large scoop."

Much could depend upon Lazio's form in Serie A, as Crespo will probably be sacrificed if the club fail to enjoy a successful end to the season.

"If we fail to get the income from the Champions League, Hernan Crespo could leave Lazio," Governato told calciomanager.it.

"We must consider every aspect of an eventual failure in qualifying, and his sale could be one of the consequences.

"But, I repeat, if we do not finish in the top four, in spite of technical sacrifices, the club would keep its own ambitions intact."
