Football, Bloody hell!
I have a feeling it will be bad, but with Ron Howard and Spielberg having producing roles, the production value should be decent, very corny title but I'm still gonna go see it

They showed this trailer in the theaters when I was watching a movie. The whole audience was intently watching it until they displayed the title of the movie, when every single person in the audience burst out laughing. "Cowboys and Aliens" - what a joke of a title.

This is exactly the same reaction I experienced

Can't complain about the title or the credentials. Unforgiven with aliens, what's not to like? The director of Iron Man. The writer of Star Trek and Transformers. A great looking cast. It surely can't fail.

All that said ... the trailer was wholly underwhelming.

:nono: The films based on a graphic novel (comic) that was called Cowboys and Aliens, hence the name. They haven't just come up with a shitty movie title.

Anyway, whatever it's called, who cares... from the trailer, it's looking great so far!

Yeah from the trailer the only thing that is looking good so far is Olivia Wilde.

 That could be quite true... She never really stood out to me before :wenger: but after seeing her in Tron, I'd be happy for Olivia Wilde to be in every female lead role!

It is a total disaster at the box office. The production budget for this film was a staggering $165m and so far in 32 days of release, the movie has earned a total revenue of only $129m. There is no way they would even reach the production budget value.

The thing is, movie has become a staple needs, that every shit / good movie with a good trailer... we'll gonna pay that small amount of money to watch it anyway.

It'll be probably full of bang and blaze, it's a pop corn movie at best.. i mean... come on, cowboys? alien? Who knows craig gets a light saber with that bracelet in his hand

I actually really enjoyed it, it was a very good, almost slightly old fashioned, action movie. Good performances from Harrison Ford and James Bond, well judged plot in terms of not trying to explain too much, always got time for any movie with Sam Rockwell in... I'll say this for it, it's a million miles ahead of Box Office gold (or indeed shit) like Transformers (1,2 or 3), Pirates of the Caribbean etc.

What exactly is the problem with this film then?

Just watched it...it's about Cowboys and Aliens.

From the things I'd heard I was expecting one the greatest catastrophes of a film I'd ever endured, but it was a film about Cowboys and Aliens. It couldn't have been any more like what a film about cowboys fighting aliens should be like...I don't understand the problem here?

If you don't want to watch a daft action film about cowboys fighting aliens, don't watch a film called Cowboys and Aliens.

It was so underwhelmingly not completely shit that I'm actually disappointed at how not completely shit it was.

I may watch it just because you said that Noodle!

I know. It was a popcorn flick. Same people who shit over this flick shit over Transformers. What do you people expect? Get of your high horse. It has people cowboys, aliens and Olivia Wilde.

Transformers is different. Theres nothing in the Transformers trailers warning you that you will have to deal with cheesy and infuriating characters like inbred hillbilly robots and geriatric and demented robots. With Cowboys and Aliens you know exactly what you get.

I can see your point if you encounter people who whine about Transformers being about giant robots transforming into vehicles who choose to wage their universal war about good and evil on Earth, because thats what the movies are about. But theres a lot more to shit over regarding Transformers.

The thing with Transformers 2 and 3 is it was like they shot a load of random scenes and then tried to piece some kind of nearly coherent film together using them. A near 3 hour long nearly coherent film...for most of which Shia Labeouf was on the screen.

 Best post I have read in a long time.

Nothing in the trailer? You knew what it was didn't you. Robots fighting robots on Earth. One side is good, one side is bad. Bad side loses. Lots of humans get killed off screen in a crossfire. Special effects and Megan Fox.

That's what the movie was like. That's exactly how the movie was.

The Decepticon in the desert was pretty cool though.

Exactly how I feel. I was led to believe it was the worst film ever.

With terrible acting, special effects where you can barely make out which transformer is good and which is bad, a storyline focusing far more on the humans than the transformers, and basically a whole lot of shitness in between.

Cowboys & Aliens has a corny premise, but it's actually quite well done within it's limitations.

Plus Olivia Wilde is lightyears better looking than Megan Fox and the blonde one.

I enjoyed it, it wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't the worse film I've seen. Prefer the comics though which had the better subtext of coloniasm behind it.

Easy. If they look cool when in hiding mode and/or they're voice is dark or screechy they're a baddie. They're also much bigger. It's a wonder they lost. Just because they couldn't wait a few hours to make sure that everyone wasn't completely dead.

I agree with the rest. Olivia Wilde is so hot it makes me angry. It's the eyes. Mesmerizing.
