I remember Niall was working with the developers of CoverItLive to integrate it with the vBulletin API so that readers could get live updates of the game from a trusted caf member. Do you know how far this is coming?

No a clue. Sorry.

Niall is about from time to time so he should see this when he is.

It would be fantastic if it happened. We tried a JavaChat applet years ago and it was an absolute mess.

I don't think an API implementation with vBulletin would be necessary as Niall could just give some trustworthy members new login credentials. However, without integration regular members of the Caf would not be able to give feedback, but feedback might not even be necessary considering we have the Matchday threads.

Yes, i don't see it as replacing Matchday threads.

I'm not sure if I see the value of some spastic from the Caf's view of a game in real time. It is annoying enough reading it in retrospect ;)

Maybe some of the caf members can't watch matches live; it would be hell of a lot better than refreshing the Matchday thread every 10 seconds to read muppets' comments and or waiting 10 minutes for an update on BBC Live Texts :)

It wont work, just as the minute by minute didn't work. I said that that wouldn't work, and it didn't. There is enough realtime media out there, why create another one?

Why didn't the minute by minute work? That was a useful tool for following the game if you couldn't watch it, and much better hearing a United supporters perspective than any BBC bollocks

Does it still happen?

That's not really a measure of whether something worked or not Weaste. Is Concorde still flying? No, but it was bloody brilliant while it did

A lack of people willing to do it in the end maybe. But the threads would regularly get 6k-7k views during the 90 minutes, which with only one or two people allowed to post isn't a shoddy return. Clearly popular

Exactly which is why live updates on a United site would be better than the rest.

the problem i found with minute by minute was idiots posting that weren't one of the selected posters
CoverItLive would not have this problem. If Niall integrated the users, then only certain users would be able to post updates, and while the regular members could comment, their posts would not be shown unless the mod decided that they would. If Niall didn't integrate the users, he could disable guest comments so that only the select members with accounts could post updates.

Wouldn't it be assigned to particular trustworthy members of the site who have volunteered though? As long as you designate the task to someone it shouldn't be a problem
