When are United going to start scoring from corners again? :confused:
You would think that with all the backroom staff and facilities they possess that some research would be done to put a training video together showing all the best corners taken in the world each week so they could practice them ad nauseam and score a few goals direct from corners. I am totally pissed off with the appalling goals to corners ratio.
 
Only JOS looks like capable of popping in a goal from corners nowadays.

Last time at least Pally was having a treat scoring from there...

So feckin true, but we've been like that for years. I remember turning to me Dad at about 10:45 on the 26th May 1999 and saying the same thing, so if I don't see another goal from a corner, those two I'll take to the grave.

With JOS getting in amongst them it could improve - and you've got to admit Verons corners on Sat were a definate improvement on the Giggs/Beckham stranglehold on set pieces.

Think the last one we scored was Larry but I can't remember exactly when. I agree Seba was whipping in some wicked balls from corners but no one was getting on the end of them. Maybe he should just shoot!
 
I agree, I point it out game after game. Its often the case that they dont clear the first man. HOWEVER, over the last three or four Seba has been delivering some quality balls in and our corners have seemed a lot more dangerous!
 
I'm just glad that we're not the kinda side that relies on set-pieces for goals.
 
aside from Larry, our other centre halves arent the type to be aggressive at attacking corners.
Brown couldnt score if he fell in a bucket of twats, Ferdinand likewise. Mickey & JOS are the only other ones who bring a bit of threat.
 
Veron even scored direct from one in italy, he has much more pace and less lift than backhams.


i reckon fergie should give corners at least veron, with beck,giggs and veron taking free kicks.

beckhams preferred position from freekicks is central or left of the penalty box, thats where he scores most, but from right of the penalty box, his record is not brilliant, because if u are a right footer, then u need some zip in addition to curl get it in, otherwise th keeper will get to it first.

i think veron should get the ones on the right because of his superior power/zip on freekicks.
 
We dont seem to have any idea what positions to take up in the six yard area. To me it seems completely haphazard? Yet you see other teams with well worked routines! Sort of like...he is marking you so I'll pull his jersey while you get yer head on it? :p
