Dear Man Utd fans, congratulations for yesterday's victory. Though I think that it wasn't as clear as some of you expected, it was obvious that the individual class of players like Van Nistelroy made Man Utd the better team.

And sorry to all decent Man Utd fans for the 'Welcome to Basel' thread. But I just wanted to give you an example of what kind of shite some of your people are posting in our forum, showing absolutely no respect for what we love: our country, our city and our club. Because we ARE proud of this club, we are attending every game with all our heart. If you saw the support in our stadium you will get a grip of how great football can be, even in Switzerland.

Last but not least, I hope that some of you will respect our pretty decent performance in the first half time, especially considering that our budget is 10 times less than yours. It's passion and the ability to hope and dream that brought us into the Champions League, not arrogance.

And last but not least: the 2nd group stage's not finished yet ;)
 
Credit where its due, I thought your fans were very noisy and passionate in the first half. Your team is gungho which is at least good to watch, even if they're the biggest bunch of bottlers I've ever seen. Whenever they concede a goal they go to pieces and concede another two! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Honest opinion? I don't buy it. If you want to have a go at those posting crap in your forum have a go at them over there and not at everyone on here calling them asylum seekers who come from monkey island.

I had a lot of respect for what you guys have achieved so far. Still do despite the bottling (let's face it, if your strikers had been as sharp as in previous games it would have been different). I think you are a disgrace to your team to be honest.

Yeh its just a cry for fecking sympathy, you dont just call each others country a shithole and then shake hands so to speak after the match. You meant what u said and what happens on antoehr forum is irrelevant, its nothing to do with us, each fan is his/her own. If a fan from some random african team for example came on here and giving us shit i wouldnt head over to a completely irrelevant forum of their team and start bashing them, cos its nothing to do with them, its fecking ludicrousy. I bet if u'd won you'd be straight on here gloating, continueing the 'england is a shitehole' bollocks. And i sure as hell wouldnt be congratulating the basel fans on here givin there performance in the thread in this very forum. I dont expect you to congratulate us, as u wouldnt expect us to congratulate you. Its just a cry for attention and a way of stopping people from taking the piss. As for your team im very impressed, Gross has come on a long way and we had to swarn yakin everytime he got the ball. Good team, shame about the supporters.

The things posted on the FC Basel forum were only as a result of serious provocation by your fans. Don't come on here saying things that you don't mean, it just makes you look sad - and prepare yourself for another defeat when you come to Old Trafford.

I do admit that what I wrote was unfair towards all decent fans in this forum. And again, my apologies to you, but only to you.

I felt compelled to show you the kind of crap some of your people posted in our forum. As you probably wouldn't have cared if I just had told you, I did it in a maybe drastic way. Because fans are not just individuals but part of their club and they partly represent it. If a Basel fan would go to another forum and post shit like this without reason and destroying thereby the reputation of my club, damn, I would react and tell him to shut up!

Telling me that I meant all this seriously and now crawl back because we have lost is - I'm sorry - pretty absurd. I came first here to this forum with a positive attitude, I didn't say anything offending, invited you to come to our forum and even took the time to explain you how to post there. Some of you thanked me by calling us "robbing bastards" and coming to our forum to only provoke us and reducing Switzerland to a country of yodling farmers which is as true as reducing Manchester to a smog-ridden dust bin with high unemployment.

Understandably, quite some people got pissed. Pretending now that it's us who started the whole thing and playing innocent is pretty poor in my view. We had a very good time with Glasgow and Liverpool fans, provokation was also there, but still in a friendly and respectful way. While I heard that some of you guys were even worse on the Leverkusen forum. What does that tell you?

Last but not least, I do not need your sympathy because it's no shame for a small club like ours to lose against Manchester United. We got already further than we ever dreamed of. I don't expect you to be anyhow interested in our club or in Swiss football, as you're admittedly playing in another league. But what I ask for is a minimum of respect as it should be common sense between football fans despite all the rivalry.

Like i said i respect ur club heavily, my respect for a clud boesnt diminsih because of fans, i think arsenal are a great side but i dispise there fans. Basel have some players i only dream of havin at OT, giminez, yakin, ergig, rossi and what not. In truth i cant judge their fans cos ive only seen a few, but the ones i have, have been hypocritical numpties.

He aint even considered one of the best in europe till a week or so ago, most ppl here that aint utd fans think he's bollocks or has it easy.

Respect where its due,your team gave poo a hasty exit,but your fans are a bit half heatred arent they?We oftern give away an early goal-but then we always come back fighting.If your fans give up that easily they arent actually fans they are just people in football shirts...

Yes, sure. I wanna see Man Utd fans being 1-3 behind and still supporting their team as our fans did. You probably would booo them and leave the stadium.

We are not the most passionate fans in Europe (I guess the Turks or Greeks still are unbeatable) but compared to the tennis game athmosphere in British stadiums it is complete frenzy.
