I want to be the first to congratulate them on their victory which is all but assured on Sunday.

This is a genuine attempt to say fair play and is in no way a pitiful attempt by an Irishman to put the jinx on.

Jinx or not I do think England have all the tools to cause Spain major problems and although Spain are deserved "favorites" I have a sneaking suspicion that England will triumph.

It's coming home lads, congratulations to England from Germany!

I recognize your history of colonization, while at the same time venturing that the underdog status sits stranger now with The Irish being one of the wealthiest peoples in Europe on the back of global pharmacaeology, tech and being a tax haven. Jinxing the one nation so far who managed to subtract itself from the European market to sit alone with an economical semi-depression smacks of Ken Clean-Air Sytems jinxing Petulia Wilcox.

Thank you for your sincere appreciation of the brave lions.

I would like to reciprocate by congratulating you. It must be a huge comfort to live in a world where you know that football is home. Congrats.

Meanwhile, on planet Earth...

Sir Gareth and Sir Harold finally taste the glory and lift their first trophy. It’s all written in the stars: favorable route, last minute equalizer against Slovakia, penalties with the Swiss, last minute heroics again against the Netherlands - jammy and improving (England looked better with each game) teams usually win it. Congrats England, I’ll surely put some money on them winning this.

i hope for europe’s sake that england lose. it would be extremely embarrassing for england to triumph after brexit, and would really show the eu up.

You’re late, it only applied in 2021, that one would truly feel like a Brexit Britain triumph, but fortunately the gods of football were kind and just that day.
These days the English team hardly oozes that Brexit spirit, Kane is now a far-left globalist living in Munich, your superstar Bellingham hates the English so much he decided to spend his youth years in a fecking Dortmund, imagine the sacrifice. Add to that it won’t be a Tory PM to bask in the glory anymore and the beloved monarch is dead, replaced by the guy not many respect.

England to win, Sir Gareth to request a rejoining referendum upon lifting the trophy.

It's amazing how British English is almost unrecognisable since Brexit.

England win

People claim England have stumbled to the final with luck and by playing poor football but I'd argue that's Spain

Very gracious OP, I accept your congratulations.

Classy gesture.

See what happens what happens when you take back control. You get to Euro finals. Well done to Nigal Farage who made it all possible.

Seriously though we are the underdogs going into this. I don't think we'll do it.

That's not what that feeling is, it's terror. Just face it.

It is a good jinx if it works.

But it is not going to work, England have the trophy in their pocket.

England do have a lot of tools.

Arise Sir Gareth. :+1:

omg, I didn't even realize this before - that prat will certainly get knighted if England does win Euros! Feeeck

Thankfully, I think chances of Spain not exposing him are very low

You bastard. You utter utter bastard!

Will be sad for Saka but Spain has to win it. We cannot let Southgate and Kane win anything, ever.

I certainly don't enjoy a classic English media meltdown after a tournament loss, no sir. A circular firing squad of lost hubris, recrimination, and self-loathing, absolutely not for me. This is why I'm glad England and INEOS favorite/future United manager Lord Gareth of Southgate have this in the bag against a Spain team that don't even have Xavi, Iniesta, Villa, Pedro, Puyol, and Messi anymore. God save the Kane.

I think England wins

Spain plays one way and England is comfortable playing in different ways.

Spain to hold the bulk of possession and England hit on the counter and dead balls

Everyone doubted them but they came through.

They fought like warriors and ended up the prize.

The signs of champions they say is winning when not playing well, and England kept winning despite playing like shit. What could have been a bigger sign?

People will say they got lucky with easy draws & dodgy penalties, but the English won't care.

They are the worthy champions of this Euro.

Football has finally come home!

Congratulations England!
