COME ON ROMA

had the misfortune to be stuck with this match thisevening :( :(

Liverpool were there usual,,
two chances in the first half, both high balls over the top, smicer volleyed at the keeper and Heskey had a good chance but of course Heskey wouldnt finish his dinner if he was hungry. ;)

Roma wernt much better but were the morewilling to go forward, as soon as pool lost the ball it was 11 men back and the furthest man forward, normally Owen was often on the pool side of the circle.

When pool did get controll of the ball it was knocked high to Heskey who knocked it down in the general direction of Owen

Liverpool are really pathetic

<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> @ Owen.

To those who keep his goal tally: Did he even have a shot on goal tonight?

Nah he didn't touch a ball inside the area.

Class performance by Liverpool. They got what they came for. <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

LFC has got a solid defence, Dudek is much better than that tall dutch guy they used to have, Hamann is always important for them, but THEY ARE SOOO BORING TO WATCH! They used to be fun to watch in the 80's, but now... <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

I have to say the most exciting part of the game was when the producers were showing hot chicks in the crowd when the ball was out. They actually did it a couple of times when Liverpool had the ball too. fecking classic.

I knew you wouldn't miss the ASS roma!

That's ESPN's call mate, not mine. They didn't show the real game last night <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

Just wasted 45min watching the 2nd half, it would have been easier watching the grass grow.If this F..ken team wins the PL or even finish above us it will be a travesty no question. <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

Stop talking bollox. If Liverpool amass more points than Utd or anyone else for that matter, they will be in that position on merit.

Its a good result for Liverpool tonight, we all no there boring but if its getting them points then thats that every now and then they'll get caught out like against Barca but for tonight they have done well

Oh well, Capello's 'one trick pony plan' seemed to do the job tonight. Contain Owen and you won't lose.

ESPN have a talent for choosing some fecking boring games. I'd have loved to see Pool-Barca instead of Bayern-United game, and Arse-Juve instead of roma-pool.

As I said b4, the only exciting things in Olimpico tonight were the chicks in the stands.

It was hilarious, at Flanagans over here, United fans were all jumping up and down, and I actually saw two 'Pool supporters sleeping watching their match. When I looked over, it looked like Roma were just dominating. I liked seeing Totti just dribble circles around the 'Pool defense, which then proceeded to foul him about 10 times. They are effective, but so bloody boring. Owen got shown up by Samuel though, no doubt about it. Class defender there.

Just practicing for Japan ;)

Dullest game I've seen all season. Both teams should be shown the CL door.

Let's see. Livershit will lose away to Barca and play for a point away in Turkey. That gives you 2 points from 4 matches. You'll have to win both remaining home matches to have a hope in hell of qualifying. Say good bye to the CL, scousers! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Batistuta was utter shite. He was put twice through to the goalkeeper, and once he shot towards the flag, the other the defender caught up with him and deflected the ball. Time to move on, Bati.

I think they're plan was to win....which we stopped them doing.
Had we lost then we would more than likely have been out of the tournament, as it is we now have a good chance of qualifying.

we played some lovely football in the first half so I don't know what Murt the pig is talking about.
He can't give any credit where it's due so in my opinion his ramblings are not worth bothering with.

I'm disappointed we didn't play as well in the second half and that we didn't score in the first when we were clearly on top.

Well done on beating Boavista, I think they're a good little team and you did well to give them such a spanking!

I wouldn't talk up Liverpools performance. They were thoroughly outclassed, and were it not for Batistuta, Roma would have won 2-0 nil.

Good performance by our lads first half....by far the better team, and we had chances to score..so much so that our boys could hear Capello screaming at his players during the break..

The cynical, diving Romans had the better of the play in the second half but the Dude was more than equal to anything they could throw at him...

We're back in with a chance

Bullshit....you don't have a clue you myopic twat!!!
sorry for the name calling but if you think we were outclassed your full of shit!!!

check out what capello thought of the match, or totti...they both said it was a fair result.

Must say dudek played well though

Still it was boring as feck.... ;)

Roma boss Fabio Capello has backed Liverpool to do well in the Champions League this season, after the goalless draw in Rome.
Capello was full of praise for Liverpool, as he said: "They are one of the best teams in Europe and I have no doubts that they are one of the teams who can win the Champions League this season.
"I think that there is a very small gap between the teams in our group and it could go down to the last match.
"Liverpool caused us many problems in the first 80 minutes, they restricted us to long shots and we never got into dangerous situations. We had a chance to win the game in the last few minutes but that would have been unjust.
"It was a case of two great defensive performances on the night but at least the result in Barcelona worked in our favour."

Straight from the horses mouth.

His view surprisingly differs from that of the resident experts here!!!

Eh Murt and co???

It got so bad at one point they were even filming a few mutts

Marcus Assunçao nearly scored from his free kick and Dudek spilled a couple of shots later on. On the other hand Heskey should've put away his chance in the first half. He rather casually slotted it wide. Owen was held well in check throughout.

As for going far in the CL, you need at least two wins to do it. You could get one against the Turks at Anfield, and you might be able to squeeze out another against Roma at Anfield. 8 Points might just get you through in this tough group.

now lads i was giving an honest opinion,,

Pool were all about long balls and 11 men behind the ball, and perhaps sneak a goal somewhere,
Fair enough they got a point in Rome which i would have settled for had it been Man Utd but i wouldnt settle for Utd going there and playing for a draw in that dire fashion.

but it was pure drivel and Roma and surprisingly Totti hadnt the ability to break youse down.
BatiGol was totally off the mark.

Pool wont win it because they may be able the get low scoring draws against some of Europes finest but someone like Zidane will open them up and when pool are forced to attack and therby change the whole game plan they will be in the shit.

And you won't win it cos you're not very good..

The old predictions again...

Were more likely to win it than Pool.
You are big enough boy to realise that Utd will have a good spell this season the question is will it coincide with crucial Cl matches in the 1/4 finals an so on.

As soon as we get our defence playing consistently well like last nights composed and assured performance well take some stopping in the all three competitions.

The league table normally starts to take serious shape early in the new yr, it will be an interesting couple of weeks <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

If we both get to the QF's then I'd say we're more likely to win it...

We've got a hard slog to qualify from a tough group but we're in with a chance...

You haven't qualified yet..you'll beat Nantes at home but the other 3 games could all go against you..

I'll worry about you in the league when you actually pose a threat instead of simply talking about it...

We're in a good position. Top of our group etc.

A point in Munich and 3 points at home. I am hoping for 4-6 points from Nantes, and at least2 more points from the Bayern and Boavista games. 10 points should get us through imo.

Thank you for the compliments by the way. Now, Totti and Samuel were hardly at 100%, and they still were totally dominant in their respective positions. Liverpool simply played the long ball game, onto the head of Heskey who tries to get it to Owen. You had two chances that I saw, Heskey and Smicer. Thats about it, and you call that domination or equity? Come on now, for arguments sake, lets just say Heskey scored his, Roma had about 3 chances which should have been goals--if not more. The possession was totally in their favor, and your midfield (again) was shown how to play. The Roma fans I talked to at Flanagans were never worried about your midfield play, for they knew Emerson, Tommassi, Assuncao, etc....would easily break up your attempts. THey were always more concerned that a long ball would result in a free kick. That happened on occasion, and even then Roma handled it very well. I would even be one to argue that Smicer's chance was just down to bad defending by Zebina from the long ball by Carragher rather than by any brilliant Liverpool play--which is becoming a rare thing these days. Roma easily showed Liverpool how to utilize a midfield passing match, and even utilized the wing backs fairly well. So, perhaps I am not the only myopic twat eh?

Totty in the stand and Totti on the pitch.

The one on the pitch is a right diving cnut though.
