Wants to leave Newcastle and go home to Argentina.

Shame to see him go but it's no surprise really. His form has taken a huge dip this season. Good luck to the lad.

has he offically handed in the transfer request yet? or is it his agent leaking it to the papers?

They could do with hanging onto him until the end of the year, theyre getting into serious trouble and all their good work is being undone

They need a new CB already, let alone with their captain leaving.

This has been doing rounds for a while. I think he wants to go back to his boyhood club or a club run by his father or some shit. I remember reading quotes from his father a few weeks back.

I feel for the wee club in the north-east. Cabaye and Ben Arfa have been injured for most of the season and their best defender wants to leave. On top of that weight of an 8 year contact on Pardew. It hasn't been easy.

Plus, Sammy Ameobi has the body of an antelope.

The suggestion is that he has 'personal issues' that make him want to go home. Yet he hasn't made a formal transfer request, which would disentitle him to things like loyalty bonues/a cut of the transfer fee.

Would be a major loss. Even if his form has dipped he seems to be a big character for them.

What's so great about Argentina that makes every Argie want to go back?

Dunno...

All their good work? They were fighting for the 5th spot last season and this season aren't they down in like 15th place. They have been pretty shit the last two months.

Seems to have been a tough time for Colo but I like the statements he's come out with...

"The last few weeks, there has been a lot of talk about my future. But I am staying here, and of course I will give 100 per cent like I always do. I have been here five years and Newcastle has given me a lot and done a lot for me. I have to be true to the club.

"I will give 100 per cent. I love football and once I am on the pitch, it is different. The problems I have are outside the pitch. I heard in the city and around the club that the fans think I have my head elsewhere thinking about other things, or that I am not the same player as last season. But like I say, for me football is my life, I love it. When I am on the pitch, I give everything to win."

"Everybody in life has problems and it is normal. That is life. I am alone here with my family. We don't have grandparents here or uncles and aunties. It does make it difficult, not for me personally because I come to work everyday, but for my kids and wife.

"Here though, the club and the fans are my family at the moment. The love that they give to me with my song and on the pitch for me is fantastic. It's the best present they can give me."

Yeah I read that on SSN earlier, it's a good, strong statement and he's going to be needed if Newcastle are going to distance themselves from the relegation scrap.
