So... how bout them Villanova Wildcats? :D

Anyone been paying attention to college basketball this year? Texas just lost twice in six days while in the number one spot. UNC's out of the Top 25 (finally, i don't care how big a name they have - they've been shite).
 
What do you mean finally? Our name was hardly holding us up, we had a good non-con record which kept us alive.

We won't win the ACC, that was a foregone conclusion, and Sweet 16 was always a "pushing it" target... Look at who we lost for feck sakes.

It's a transitional year and next season will be outstanding.

I mean that you guys were 12-6 at the time of the last poll, yet were still ranked. Most ranked teams have a way higher winning percentage than .666%, good out of conference record or not. You guys had lost every game against a team worthy of mentioning except Ohio State. And my opinion of Ohio State is very, very low.

I'm not saying anything about how you guys should be better, because obviously this is going to be a transitional year. It'd be silly to think otherwise. I just thought it was a farce that you were in the Top 25 last week and a HUGE farce that you were ranked 4th in the nation to start the year. Sometimes people have trouble evaluating UNC and Duke sensibly, which kinda pisses me off.

Edit: You guys did beat Michigan State. Forgot about that. Still.. my point holds.

Also, don't forget that before last week, UConn had the same record as UNC but hadn't beaten any top 25 teams but were still ranked. They had a much less legitimate cause to be in the top 25.

It's March! It was a big weekend of upsets for the top 3, but Syracuse are looking great. I don't know that they're favorites for the title though.

For me, it seems like the early 2000s all over again. UNC is awful, and Maryland think they are big-timers. Duke's not been spectacular, but they've won pretty consistently. Hopefully, we can finish off the ACC Wednesday and blow UNC out next Saturday.

Nova have been fecking wank in the last couple weeks - it's a bit embarrassing. I have no idea what happened. Hopefully they pick it up come tournament time as they usually do..

Dunno how Nova got a number two seed with the way they've been playing. That said, if the right Nova team shows up, and if they can beat Baylor, I think they can actually make it to the Final 4. They can definitely beat Duke.
 
All we can hope for is Gus Johnson to be able to call a gamewinner

Brilliant game though. Got the point for Nova's win but probably would've benefited more in the long run with them being out. Now I'm relying on St. Mary's to knock them out but I don't think anyone will have as good a chance as Robert Morris did tonight.

Matt, if you pick Nova to win our bracket then you'll be guaranteed not to face a lose-lose situation. If we actually win it then that's great but if we lose then atleast you haven't lost your bracket either. Anyways, I don't think cuse will make it to the final four and that we will win our bracket (assuming we get past Louisville) and play Kentucky in the final four. We have every chance of beating them, except we have to take coaching lessons from Mississippi State who lost to them three times this year in OT.
 
I don't have a bracket. Villanova have no business making it to the Elite Eight to be honest. After finagling a win out today with the help of refs, they might not make it past St Mary's. Kentucky might be too temperamental to get there. Wake/Texas both have the ability to give them fits. Chase McFarland could get under Cousins' skin and get him in trouble.

If I had a bracket, it'd be shot to shit by now anyway. Ohio beating Georgetown? People had them going to the Elite Eight/Final Four!

Anyways I was a poor ass 21/32 in the first 2 days, none of my upsets pulled through exept Old Dominion.

Villanova is a bunch of useless twats. Couldn't ride the momentum when being up front, and couldn't come up with a plan to deal with a midget and a bagpole the whole game. Not even trying to get close.

Nova lost 7 of their last 12 games this year, after being ranked 3rd in the nation at one point. Crappy way for Scottie Reynolds to end his college career. Hoped that they could rekindle their excellent play from earlier this year in the tournament, but they were absolutely dire. I can't believe Duke or Baylor are going to be in the Final Four. Neither are particularly good.

Cal-Duke should be a good game. We'll have to pound it inside on you guys, considering Jamal is your biggest starter. He's a great kid(he was in my year before he transferred to Cal).
