Cm 01/02

01/02 Was perfect. Had the right amount of depth without being too easy. And you could bash through a season in one afternoon. Fantastic game.

CM01/02 free???

Do I have to play 2008 / 9 or can I just let Van Nistelrooy and Veron rip on everyone?

Yep, and you don't have to install the 08/09 patch if you don't want to.

Think this became available for free download sometime last year.

Fantastic Page Ranking move.... the surge of visitors would be perfect advertisement for their much hyped upcoming title, CM 09/10. I had been following it for awhile and apparently it's a massive improvement from the previous (and very disappointing) installments.

edit: that's odd... "P.R." has been auto corrected :annoyed:

Which is quite funny, considering the excellence that is CM 01/02 wasn't even made by them

Is that the one with the Diablo tactic that completely ripped apart all AI?

I'm fairly sure I got a 3rd division team to the top of the premiership using that tactic.

Ah, there's a tactic called WWW1 or whatever. Got my Stevenage team from the confrence to premiership champions in no time.

If you don't see the appeal of FM at all, then I don't think this is the game for you. Actually, I don't think this is the genre for you.

Go play FIFA :D

I like FM but I find it a bit too much. It's extremely detailed and I don't have the time to figure out which statistic of the 30 visible is the one I need to determine if player A is good for position B.

FIFA 09 has about the depth I'm looking for in a management game...well..perhaps a little more depth. I most fun I've had was with Total Club Manager 2003 (in 2003 mind) although FM is the superior game.

In that case, CM 01/02 might work well for you. It's still CM, so it's not an easy stroll to success, but it's not as extreme as the later couple of games. I have to admit I've had some great fun with less detailed games. ***LFM99 (FA Premier League Football Manager 99). At least I think it was 99. Much more arcade'y than even the CM games of then, but still worth a lot of fun.

I've been buzzing off this game, using the 08/09 database and started a game as Utd. Been raping people so far.
