Sander Westerveld has admitted there is interest in him from other clubs in a race for his signature.
The Dutch international has admitted he doesn't want to leave Anfield but feels he may have to in order to resume his career.
Speaking to icons.com on his personal website Westerveld said: "The European transfer window opens on December 15, and I can tell it's not far away because clubs are starting to contact Liverpool about my situation.
"I have never said I wanted to leave Liverpool, and that is still the case. But realistically I have to think of the possibility of changing my club. I really want to say that I will stay and fight for my place here, but I know it's going to be very hard under the circumstances.
"It has been really difficult for me to handle this situation, and I don't think I can keep this up for much longer. Hopefully this situation will change soon as a move to Manchester United is a possibility.
"Until then I will continue to keep my chin up and go to Liverpool's home games. I watched us play against Barcelona and I must say I felt we lost to the best team in the Champions League."
