Claudio Lopez 2 United?

Hope not... although he is a pacey striker he does not score enough goals to justift a starting spot up front... he would be good cover as he can play left wing as well but at 29 in the summer he is hardly the long term soloution as I dont know many strikers who at 30 run past defenders ala Henry, Owen, Bellamy
 
We should never have signed Sheringham, he was over 30.

Lopez has scored 11 or 12 goals for Lazio this season I think.
 
lopez has 11... 2 penalties

he scored 10 all of last season and other than 98/99 I dont think his return in front of goal is good enough

Stats are a wonderful thing, but where is the context? You need to know where he was played. Wingers will score far fewer than centre forwards. It also depends on who else is in the team to provide the service too.
 
He was sensational at Valencia, one of the top strikers in the world at the time.

Good to see him finally finding his feet in Italy this season.

and why the hell not? Teddy was great in his time here! we could use him at the club now, someone who just open things up a bit when needed. I was skeptical a first but his last season here was brilliant.

He is currently doing very well in the Serie A. But I would have preferred a younger prospect someone like Adriano or Ronaldinho

Not the player he was in his Valenica, but then again that could be down to Lazio being piss-poor!
