I have a day off today and I'm already completely bored.

I'm looking for some suggestions of an old PC game to download and get immersed in.

I dug out a few old discs I used to play like Theme Hospital, Age of Empire's 1 and 2, The Sims, Deus Ex and a few more but as I played them to death when they first came out once the initial nostalgia wears off I'm bored again.

Any games anyone can think of that might fit the bill?

EDIT - Doesn't necessarily have to be an old or classic game, just not too large as my download speed is shocking here. (100kb/s if i'm lucky :()

Championship Manager 97/98 for a classic PC game

Not to sure whether you can play it on Vista or Windows 7 though

If i was going for a classic in that franchise it would be 2001/2002.... but I played that to death :D

I am like that with Football Manager 08 but can that be confined to the classics section now that is 3 years old.

Empire Earth or Settlers 3. That'd be me done for weeks.

Empire Earth looks AOE like, is it any good?

I'm tempted to get Sim Tower or Sim Farm as I remember spending a few hours on these but I was very young and I'm not sure how well I grasped it.

I've been in the same position before I met my gf, now I don't have the time :(

The games you want are:

-Sim City, the second newest one.
-Civilisation 3/4

Be warned though, the former is addictive as feck.

It's excellent. It's quite like AoE, but it's different it some ways. The timeline runs from stoneage to some future age, for example. And the harvesting system works slightly different. But really it's very similar.

The original, mind you, not the sequels. They weren't made by the same company.

What he said, i loved it when it came out. Starting out as cavemen and gradually building up through greeks, WW2 and the future. Really good game, damn now i'm gonna have to get it again.

Starcraft and Counterstrike 1.6

The hours I poured into those two...

Downloading Empire Earth now, looks right up my street.

If anyone else is looking for a good game I reccomend Pharoah.

If you're online then I would recommend Urban Terror, it's a mix between quake & counter strike. Been playing it for years and will work fine on older pc's.
