Dear Mods,

Just a question, is the thread "Your comments..." in the Manchester United Forum really something that does NOT warrant your attention?

I know you guys are not all powerful, but I really feel the general atmosphere has declined based on all to numerous threads like this. The language and spitefulness seem a bit harsh to me. Thank you for for hosting this site and all your work, and thank you for your consideration on this point.

I know where you are coming from but I have seen a lot worse over the years and while there is obviously a bit of tension and minor name calling going on I can't really see how we could moderate it in a meaningful way.

And this is a football forum after all.
 
I understand where you are coming from Rob, I assure you it's a really fine line between two extremes...IMHO, You don't want to be controlling and over-modding the debates.

We have a nice balance...

The problem is it is a thread by the two greatest ABUs in the history of mankind, posing as the "Greatestestestest Bestestest Reds Ever (foreigners out!)".

That didn't used to happen in the old days. Welcome to Uncle Malc World.

As for the rest I know who these guys are. I just happen to think you can have an opinion and not slag someone off as well... unlike Spoony here :).

Frankly I see this as one of the problems. Posters with large posts counts inflating their post counts while adding little to nothing intellectually. In fact while adding nothing they seek only to belittle others, cast insults, and/or wind up people for their own petty amusement. And this only serves their interests as they inflate their post counts which further add to their bully pulpit power, all the while cheapening the whole cafe by lessening everyone else's enjoyment and ability to share honest thoughtful opinions.

Seriously Spoony I know you posts lots of intelligent things in other threads, but what have your posts in this thread added? What theme of the thread have you helped clarify or refute? The only logical conclusion I could draw from your posts here are if anyone disagrees with your opinions, then their sexuality must be questioned? Did I miss anything?

Btw, Rob, what happened to your Greetings... Regards, Rob style? It was quirky and cool.
