could it be true??if it is hope it is us

Looks like he's been smoozed by the Cockney Barrow Boys, why you might think this article may link him with a move to United? God only knows.( and I don't mean cantona)

and that is the bad thing

still do not think he will join areses because he'll cost a lot of money(20-25 mil) and idoubt they can afford it

It is absolutely true, he's on the cover of the last France Football. He has given a long interview to that paper. For once it's not distorted.

But it's old news, he has always said he wanted to play in England. And he has Thierry Henry's example !

It would be a crime to let him go to Arsenal or Liverpool !

Arsenal do not need two similar world class players, thierry and Cisse are too similar.

Liverpool have Owen, and even though they want him: 1) their style will hamper his development, and 2) they already have 5 strikers, including a fast one in Owen. oh, and 3)Liverpool's been playing crap whilst these comments were made.

That leaves us, with 3 strikers, one established, one nearly 30 and one super sub. And none of them super fast.

to recap:

Arsenal really can't afford the luxury of having 6 top class striker, from which two would be too similar to each other.

Liverpool, do not need another striker, are crap, and can't really afford to spend big after Houllier's cock ups so far.

That leaves us who can spend big whilst, letting the player bed in, need the fourth striker and there would competition from strikers who do not have the quality of speed to burn, he would bring something new to our attack and be less worried about getting a starting berth.

if u read right at the end of the article cisse talk about 3 players who convinced him da premiership is the place to be. which 3 players were they? wiltor, henry and vieira! and who do they pplay for? bloody arsenal. as much as id love him to come to us that states arsenal may be his first option.

It's because they're good friends of him, particularly Wiltord, they were always together during the last World Cup. Cisse has stressed in other interviews that United, Liverpool and Arsenal were the club that could interest him. But as Gulli G said, Cisse is too similar to Henry. Guy Roux (Auxerre's manager) and Ferguson are friends, frankly, the club has to do everything to get him !

Why not have some fans doing a protest for fergie to buy Djibril Cisse, Outside Old Trafford, with banners like :Henry Quote "he's faster and stronger than Me".

That would be a first, maybe even raise awareness.

We must be favourites from the angle that we have the greater need(and finance) for another quality forward with just 3 here, and he is exactly the kind of forward we need-

Will Arsenal pay such money for a player so similar to Henry?

Scousers are pretty full striker wise and they have Pongolle(spelling) French U21, coming next Summer from La Harve(along with a teammate) who some suggest(and not just scousers) has the ability to eclipse Henry or Cisse. And then there is the money, they may not have CL revenue next year.

He would always be under Henry's shadow at Arsenal and Owen's at Liverpool.

This factor would hamper his development.

What's to stop him going elsewhere? He never commited to United you know...

He wants to come to Old Trafford, but if we don't buy him and someone else comes in for him from the Premiership then he'd have to take it.

We wants 'to play in the premiership'. United, Arsenal and Liverpool are (naturally) linked with him, and have been for a while.

What's to stop him going to Tottingham?

I'm pretty worried hearing this news...he would probably go to Arsenal (unfortunately)...but we should start a protest as mentioned earlier...y doesn't he talk to Mickey,Fab or (our French agent) Blanc......don't forget Mexes we need to buy him as well

It sounded like he wanted to play for us a few weeks ago. Now he sounds a bit more vague. Do you think that's because Fergie is targetting other strikers? I have to wonder with all this talk about Bellion and then there are all these rumours about us going for Ronaldinho. Maybe that's why Cisse is being more vague now. I hope not because I'd really like to see him come here.

Someone like him will be the right choice : with Beck and Seba as "passeurs", Manutd will win all .

I think Cisse just wants to go to the EPL, I think he thinks if he makes it known he is up for a move he has a better chance of someone picking him up, that said I cant see anyone but us getting him.

He surely talks to Barthez and Silvestre, it's just that he's a close friend of Wiltord, and Henry and Vieira are Wiltord's partners in Arsenal...That doesn't mean he only wants to go to Arsenal. As for Blanc, he doesn't play for France anymore and may be he doesn't even know him.

That would be great... it's going to be a Rio like situation again though, seeing how he's signed a long contract so that Auxerre can hold us ransom again...

So the man himself has ruled out a move to Arsene's Arseholes.

This leaves him with a straight choice between us and Liverpool. As far as I'm concerned, there is not a single footballer on the face of this planet who would choose Liverpool over us.

That is of course, assuming that he is wired up correctly, and his brain is in perfect working order.

Also, unless Liverpool qualifies for the CL, I don't think they'll have to money to go for him...which just leaves us. :)

I haven't heard that interview. The quotes were taken from France Football anyway. Anyway he never talk about Arsenal, but the Premierleague in general.

Send for the megastore scraf, CISSE will be a united player in the first (and probably one of the only) major deals of the summer!!!

I don't believe that. It's third if not fourth hand information. Anyone can claim they heard something from a radio station. Until I read an official quote from an official source I do not believe Arsenal & Liverpool are out of the chase.

Cisse is a very interesting player, he´s just what United is needing, speed and goal quote. Plus, if Ruud gets injured we´re screwed without a good replacement. Fergie already made a mistake letting arseholes get Sol Campbell and I hope he learned the lesson and get Djibrill before they do. We shouldn´t worry about Liverpool, they can´t afford him and with their crappy little season they won´t have the money to afford him and they´ll probably go to first division next season.

Kapo could push Wiltord out of the team.
Wonder what kind of team Auxerre will have next season because they have 3 players out of contract next summer aside from their three main properties of: Cisse, Mexes, and Kapo who are all on the fringe of the national side and need a higher level of competition.

I must say I haven't heard about this "interview". Me too I have doubts.
